The Adrian Nicholls yard struck with 10-1 shot Tees Spirit in the 5f handicap here yesterday and also had a well backed winner at Thirsk last week. They send ABATE to this 6f handicap, who could potentially be in receipt of an easy lead despite the big field. The tailwind is unlikely to be as strong as it was here yesterday, but it should still be an advantage to race on the front end. Stall 13 of 20 looks slightly worrying on yesterday’s evidence though with the ground on the far side (which looked quicker) opened up yesterday it might not be the worst idea for Mia Nicholls to run to her draw and blast off down the centre. Buy in the Spreadex 50-30-20-10 market or take a fixed odds price.

CHELTENHAM 3.15

BETTERFOREVERYONE won by 14 lengths on his latest start but that was in a small field over Doncaster’s easy fences and his suspect jumping is a prime candidate to let him down in this 18-runner handicap chase. Alan King’s seven-year-old fell at Doncaster in early December and made significant jumping errors either side of that effort. Sell in the Spreadex 50-30-20-10 market. Fixed odds punters might want to side with MIDNIGHT OUR FRED, runner-up here the last twice.
