Daily Spread Betting Round-up
Who is in the EFL Cup Final?
Chelsea booked their place in the EFL Cup final with a resounding 3-0 aggregate win against a sorry looking Spurs. Down 2-0 after the away leg, Antonio Conte’s outfit needed a quick start to this second leg, but after Antonio Rudiger had bundled in an 18th minute Mason Mount corner, the tie was all but over. Spurs were awarded two penalties on the field, only for VAR to rule them out, but in truth Chelsea looked a class above their London rivals and deservedly went through. They will play either Liverpool or Arsenal, who face each other tonight in their semi-final 1st leg.
Antonio Rudiger Player Performance (settled at 107)
This market awards points depending on the player’s performance, with 25 for a goal, 10 for an assist or hitting the woodwork, 5 for a shot on target or a blocked shot, 3 for winning a freekick, 2 for an off target shot and 2 for completing a pass in the opponent’s half. With his goal and all round display, Rudiger totalled the most points of the players quoted, easily surpassing the spread, which was set at 46-51. Buyers therefore copped 56 times their investment.
What was the biggest game on the Continent yesterday?
It may have ‘only’ been a Spanish Super Cup El Clasico, but there’s no clash between Barcelona and Real Madrid that isn’t life of death, and so that proved in barnstorming encounter last night that Madrid won 3-2 after extra time. They took the lead three times in all, and while the Catalan side battled back twice, they couldn’t manage it a third time and it was Real who go through to face the winner of tonight’s Atletico Madrid v Athletic Bilbao semi.
Federico Valverde Extra Time Goal Mins (settled at 98)
With the scores tied at 2-2 after normal time, 30 mins of extra time ensued, with penalties ready to decide things after that if the two old rivals still couldn’t be split. Extra Time Goal Mins isn’t a market that is open to punters that often, but any who took advantage yesterday and chose Valverde as their man to get on the scoresheet made a decent profit. The spread for Valverde’s Goal Mins at the start of the extra period was 2-4, so when he knocked in what proved to be the 98th minute winner, they made a profit of 94 times their bet.
What was the biggest winning bet on Spreadex yesterday?
The Masters snooker at Ally Pally served up two classics yesterday as Judd Trump and Kyren Wilson both booked their place in the quarter-finals with final frame victories against Mark Allen and Stuart Bingham respectively. Bingham battled back from 3-0 and 4-1 down to force a decider at 5-5, only to see Wilson clear the colours to take victory, while Trump scored three centuries and a 62 clearance in the decider to clinch his last eight place. The key frame may well have been the eighth, when Allen had a great chance to go 5-3 up and win his third frame in a row, only to allow Trump to sneak it and wrestle back control.
Trump v Allen Frame 8 Multi-Points (settled at 4030)
Trump battled back to take Frame 8 with a fist pump, winning it 65-62 in a great result for buyers of the Multi-Points market, which is made up by multiplying Trump’s score by Allen’s. The spread was set at 1299-1449, meaning buyers won a massive 2581 times their stake, the biggest winning bet we saw yesterday.
