Daily Spread Betting Round-up
WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?
There was plenty of action to get stuck into this weekend with Derby trials at Lingfield, Premier League football, an Old Firm derby, Gallagher Premiership semi-finals, the EFL play-offs, and Jason Day ending a five year PGA drought.
With sporting drama everywhere you looked over the last few days, we have gone through the games to bring you three winning spread bets.
Please remember Spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit. They may not be suitable for everyone so please ensure you fully understand the risks involved.
WIGAN WARRIORS v LEEDS RHINOS – WIG/LEE TRY MINUTES SUPREMACY (SETTLED AT -308)
We start the round-up at the DW Stadium which saw one of the more remarkable Super League matches of recent times as 12-man Leeds staged a second half comeback to defeat a Wigan side who could’ve gone top of the league.
Rhinos have a decent record against Wigan, but they were 14-6 down after a fairly insipid first half display which saw forward Zane Tetevano sent off for a hit on Harry Smith that was both late and high. At this point of proceedings, the Try Minute Supremacy went to 176-200 in Wigan’s favour.
However, the two sides came out as different beasts in the second half, with Leeds throwing the ball about and scoring almost at will with tries from Tom Holroyd, Richie Myler, Cam Smith, Liam Tindall, Rhyse Martin and a Harry Newman brace helping the visitors to a stunning 40-18 win.
A glut of second half tries for the Rhinos left the Try Minute Supremacy market to settle at -308. Before the match, the spread was 71-87 as sellers won 379x their stake, but those who had the foresight to sell at half time won 484x their stake!
Elsewhere in Super League Wakefield Multi-Points once again made up at 0 when they lost to Hull FC last Thursday, leaving sellers £388 up for the season off a £1 stake if selling this spread in every match.
ESPANYOL v BARCELONA – CROSS-BOOKINGS (SETTLED AT 300)
Barcelona wrapped up La Liga in their cross-city rival’s back garden last night with a resounding 4-2 victory that also pushed Espanyol closer to the drop. Xavi’s side were 4-0 up after an hour and two late goals for the hosts couldn’t take the shine off Barca’s success.
Whilst there was plenty of joy for buyers of goals-related spreads, sellers came up trumps when it came to cards as a usually feisty derby never truly ignited. There had been seven reds in four previous Barcelona derbies and 18 in Espanyol’s previous 33 league games this season, but the hosts picked up just one yellow card with Barca earning three as Cross-Bookings settled at 300.
Our traders had braced for a card frenzy that never came at Cornella-El Prat with the Cross-Bookings spread set at 1115-1265 at kick-off with buyers landing a win of 815x their stake.
RAJASTHAN ROYALS v ROYAL CHALLENGERS BANGALORE – RAJASTHAN RUNS (SETTLED AT 59)
There was a huge clash in the IPL yesterday with regards to the play-offs and Royal Challengers Bangalore came out on top as they thrashed Rajasthan in Jaipur. Overseas stars Glenn Maxwell and Faf du Plessis both hit fifties as RCB finished on 171-5 with the Rajasthan run spread set at 158-164 as the hosts began their chase.
In reality, the chase was over before it had properly begun with the Royals’ top scorers this season – Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaswal – both departing without scoring and the fall of Sanju Samson left them 7-3 after eight balls.
Shimron Hetmeyer and Joe Root were the only Rajasthan players to hit double figures as they were skittled for 59 runs with sellers on the Royals’ Runs spread winning 99x their stake.
Please note that these are examples of winning bets from the past week, and it is important to remember that spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit.
