It was a weekend of champions as Spain landed their first trophy since 2012 with a penalty success against Croatia whilst Max Verstappen made it 100 Grand Prix wins for Red Bull and Wyndham Clark bagged the US Open

Amidst allthe sporting glory we have tracked down where the big winning spread bets were from a bumper weekend of action.

US OPEN – WYNDHAM CLARK FINISHING POSITION (NO MAX) (SETTLED AT 1)

For only the fourth time in history, a player making their first cut went on to win the US Open as Wyndham Clark emulated Lucas Glover’s feats of 2009 (the last player to achieve this) by landing the title in Los Angeles.

Sharing the lead with Rickie Fowler approaching the last day on -10, Clark’s final round score of level par was enough to get victory whilst Fowler slid dramatically down to finish tied fifth after carding +5.

There were a few big winning spreads for those who sided with Clark, whose Finishing Position (No Max) spread was 49-54 on Thursday morning. There is another spread called Finishing Position (Max 70) where, as the name suggests, the max makeup is 70, on this spread he was priced 41-44. Those who sold on the former though were left with a win of 49x their stake.

GIBRALTAR v FRANCE – GOALS CUBED (SETTLED AT 27)

This spread was featured as a big winning bet when Gibraltar lost 3-0 to the Netherlands back in March and they put in a spirited performance against the world champions to lose by the same scoreline on Friday.

The French side wheeled out the heavy artillery of Kingsley Coman, Olivier Giroud, and Kylian Mbappe and whilst Giroud opened the scoring in the third minute, the floodgates never truly crashed open.

The match, which was played in the Algarve, had a Goals Cubed spread of 244-314 but with just three goals scored, the market settled at 27 as sellers won 217x their stake.

DERBYSHIRE FALCONS v YORKSHIRE VIKINGS – YOR/DER SUPREMACY (SETTLED AT -144)

After thumping Leicestershire on Friday night at Headingley, Yorkshire made the short hop south to Chesterfield looking to put another East Midlands county to the sword when they faced Derbyshire.

Chasing a club record seven consecutive T20 wins, Yorkshire got off to an inauspicious start when the hosts racked up a score of 212-4 (having been 49-3 in  the seventh over). The Vikings’ misery continued though as they could only manage a score of 66-all out with four players hitting a solitary run and opener Adam Lyth out for a three-ball duck.

Having gone into the match in hot form, Yorkshire were favoured on the Supremacy which was 22-28 before play, however a 144-run win for Derbyshire saw the market settle at -144 as sellers won 166x their stake.

Please note that these are examples of winning bets from the past week, and it is important to remember that spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit.
