Daily Spread Betting Round-up
PSG knock out the defending champions while Chelsea reach the semis despite a loss to Porto – but how much money did punters make on Tuesday night? What are the odds on PSG winning the Champions League? They may’ve lost in Paris, but PSG’s huge win in Munich last week ensured they reach the Champions League semis and got revenge on Bayern for 2019/20’s final defeat. Only one goal separated the two sides on Tuesday, and it came from a former member of the Parisian parish. Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting scored against his old club in the 40th minute – a reward for anyone backing him at a First Goalscorer price of 13/2. For football spread betting fans, buying a Player Goal Minutes spread of 20-23 won you 17 times your initial stake. And given that goal was a header, you could either buy him at a Player to Score Header fixed odds price of 11/2, or a Headed PGM spread of 5-8, resulting in 32 times your opening bet. The lack of goals also meant you were wise to buy an Under 1.5 Goals price of 7/1. You were even wiser to sell a chunky Total Goal Minutes spread of 189-204. That move won you 149 times your original wager. Though they are now through to the semis, PSG still aren’t favourites for the title. Spreadex has them at 14/5, compared to potential last-4 opponents Man City at 17/10. On the spreads, the French side are at a binary spread – making up to 100 if they win the competition and 0 if they don’t – of 20-26.4, notably behind City 32.2-37.1. When was the last time Chelsea reached the Champions League semi-finals?Reaching the Champions League last-4 for the first time in 7 years – they lost to Atletico in the semis in 13/14 – Chelsea withstood Porto and an overhead consolation from Mehdi Taremi. That result meant you needed to sell a Chelsea/Porto Goal Supremacy spread of 0.65-0.85 to make 1.65 times your initial wager. Alternatively, you could’ve bought Porto at match odds of 15/4. Though Taremi’s wonder goal did little for the Portuguese side, it was a boon to anyone buying him at 12/1 to Score First as he came off the bunch. Or, buy his sub Player Goal Minutes spread of 4-7, and his injury time strike netted you 83 times your opening stake. In total there were 15 corners across the fixture, compared to an Over 14.5 Corners price of 13/2. If you opted for Cross-Corners – which is Team A Corners x Team B Corners – then Chelsea’s 6 and Porto’s 9 produced a makeup of 54. Buy a starting spread of 21-24, and you ended up with 30 times your original bet.
