Three of the four FA Cup quarter-finals will be decided this weekend, but will there be more giant-killing shocks in store? The matches will have to be decided as there are no replays at this stage any longer, plus teams will have the option of using a fourth substitute if the games go into extra time. With this in mind, Spreadex have a host of extra time markets you can play on to throw an extra element of interest into the ties. As for the matches themselves, all three look to be pretty straightforward if the spread betting Goal Supremacy prices are anything to go by; Man City/Middlesbrough (h) 1.25 – 1.45, Arsenal/Lincoln 3.25 – 3.45 and Tottenham/Millwall 2.35 – 2.55. However, we all know how unpredictable the cup has been so far this season, so where is a possible upset likely to occur? Boro may fancy their chances at home to an unpredictable City side in the 12.15pm Saturday kick-off but their real priorities lie in focusing on an imminent relegation battle as Aitor Karanka’s side plunge towards the trapdoor due to a terrible run of form. The north-east outfit are now 1/3 to go down on our fixed odds and 17 – 20 on our spread betting relegation index (based on 50 points awarded to the bottom team at the end of the season, 25 to second bottom and 10 third bottom). Boro have just three victories in their last 13 matches and all of these came in the FA Cup. City by contrast have lost just once in their last 13. True, Pep Guardiola’s side may be slightly distracted by next week’s Champions League second-leg away at free-flowing Monaco. But the Spreadex traders think the Citizens will have enough to win at the Riverside and Spreadex clients, by and large, seem to agree. Next up on Saturday at 5.30pm is Arsenal v Lincoln. Arsenal will surely be out to put up a show after their Munich humiliation in mid-week and with a fixed odds price as skinny as 1/12 for the win, punters may well be looking to the spreads for more potential value. How long will the Imps be able to hold out? Well Spreadex’s 1st Match Goal is priced at 24 – 27 so anyone thinking the first goal won’t come until after the 27th minute would be looking to buy on the spread, while those thinking the first goal will come earlier than the 24th minute would be selling. Total Goal Minutes has also attracted attention at 208 – 223 while the Arsenal Player Goal Minute prices are also popular with Giroud at 61 – 65, Sanchez 54 – 58, Lucas 44 – 48, Welbeck 40 – 44 and Walcott 35 – 38. Under-fire boss Arsene Wenger knows fans will only accept a big win against non-league opponents and the spreads suggest that a four goal victory would be above the expected margin of victory. Sunday sees Tottenham host a Millwall side that have already put out Bournemouth, Watford and Leicester this season so can the Lions roar once again at White Hart Lane? Much will depend on the strength of the side put out by Mauricio Pochettino. Spurs struggled before eventually downing Wycombe in the fourth round when resting key players but easily saw off Fulham in the fifth round with key men such as Kane, Alli and Eriksen in the starting 11. Spreadex clients are understandably holding off until they know more about how seriously Tottenham are taking their London opponents. The likelihood is though with Tottenham out of the Europa League and 10 points behind Chelsea in the league that this is their only realistic chance of silverware this term. So a strong side and an eventual win for the hosts may well be the likely outcome but whether it will be by the predicted 2.35 – 2.55 margin could well be the question.
