Sports Blog 30/11/2015: Season Review – Jamie Vardy’s Spread Betting Player Goal Minutes, Monday 30th November 2015

The Foxes frontman has been attracting more and more interest each week from Spreadex spread betting customers – and he’s been a particularly popular choice for buyers of Player Goal Minutes.

A £1 buy of the Leicester striker’s Goal Minutes on our pre-match spread for every league game so far this season would have resulted in a profit of 525 times the original stake.

Our table below shows how the 28-year-old initially left buyers of his Goal Minutes with a loss over the first three matches of the season, despite scoring in the opening day win over Sunderland.

However, his form since then has resulted in profits for buyers in every match with the exception of Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Manchester United when his 24th minute strike fell exactly at the buy point of the 21 – 24 spread.

Player Goal Minutes are based on the minutes of every goal scored by a named player in a match, aggregated.

So for example buyers of Vardy’s Goal Minutes at 15 – 18 made 138 times their stake when the England international scored twice in last month’s 2-2 draw at Southampton when he struck in the 66th and 90th minutes ((66 + 90) – 18).

Super Mega Player Goal Minutes is another variation on the same theme, with the time in minutes of any second goal scored by a player in a match doubled and any third goal trebled.

So in the example above, Vardy’s Super Mega Player Goal Minutes were available at 27 – 30 and made up at 246 (66 + 180) resulting in a profit of 216 times their stake for buyers of this particular market on this particular day.

Player Performance is another spread betting market where Vardy has been getting attention too. This market offers a spread based on players acquiring points for the following occurrences during a match; 25 points per goal, 10 points per assist, 10 points for hitting the woodwork, 5 points per shot on target, 5 points per blocked shot from inside the six yard box, 2 points per shot off target, 3 points per free-kick won and 2 points per completed pass in opponents’ half.

Vardy’s Player Performance spread ahead of the Manchester United draw was 39 – 44 however his final ‘make-up’ was 35 meaning a loss of nine times their stake for buyers at 44 or a profit of four times their stake for sellers at 39.

As always with football spread betting it’s worth remembering you can buy or sell on the spread and that if the bet goes against you, you can lose more than your initial stake.

Can Vardy’s incredible run continue? Well with Swansea, Chelsea, Everton, Liverpool and Manchester City next in line for the Leicester, on paper it seems as though it may be slightly more difficult for the Sheffield-born marksman to keep finding the net in the coming weeks.

However, the Spreadex punters who got on Vardy to be Top Premier League scorer at 9/1 on our fixed odds at the end of last month are already on to a good thing with the player now leading the betting at 6/4 on this particular market.
