Sports Blog 22/01/2016: Premier League spread betting preview including Arsenal v Chelsea, Leicester v Stoke and West Ham v Man City

Arsene Wenger’s men go into the weekend fixtures top on goal difference from Leicester, however they don’t have the best of records at home against Chelsea since moving to the Emirates.

As the table below shows, the Blues hold the ascendancy over the Gunners at their new home with four wins, four draws and just two defeats in the 10 matches played between the sides there since the Gunners moved from Highbury.

Chelsea remain unbeaten under new boss Guus Hiddink on his second spell at the club but the Spreadex traders make Arsenal reasonably strong favourites with a Goal Supremacy spread betting quote of Arsenal/Chelsea 0.4 – 0.6.

Spreadex clients also don’t seem confident in the visitors and we’ve largely seen buyers of Arsenal at 0.6 indicating they feel a first defeat for Hiddink could be on the cards.

In the 10 games played between the sides at the Emirates there have been 20 goals scored at an average of two goals per game and in the last five of those clashes there have been just five goals in total and three 0-0 draws.

With this in mind, and Chelsea more than likely to be taking a cautious approach after shipping three at home to Everton last week, sellers of Total Goals and Total Goal Minutes have been taking note on spreads of 2.55 – 2.75 and 129 – 139 respectively. Arsenal v Chelsea is live on Sky Sports 1 at 4pm on Sunday.

Elsewhere this weekend, Manchester City have the chance to go top of the table before Arsenal’s match but only if Leicester fail to beat Stoke at 3pm on Saturday.

The Spreadex traders have Leicester the favourites with a Goal Supremacy spread betting price of Leicester/Stoke 0.4 – 0.6 but we’ve had only sellers on this spread so far with clients continuing to try and predict the moment when the wheels come off for the Foxes.

As for Man City, they journey to West Ham for the 5.30pm televised kick-off on Saturday with the Goal Supremacy spread a healthy Man City/West Ham (h) 0.75 – 0.95.

Punters have mixed opinions on this one with slightly more sellers than buyers. West Ham of course beat the Citizens at the Boleyn last season and won at the Etihad earlier in the season and Man City have been erratic to say the least this term so spread betters fancy the Happy Hammers to continue their strong home record here by at least getting a point against Manuel Pellegrini’s side.
