A massive weekend for Premier League football could have major ramifications at both ends of the table. Things kick off with a trip to Stamford Bridge for Newcastle, who face Chelsea at 12.30pm on Sky Sports. The Toon are stuck in a bit of a rut; though they stalled a run of 4 consecutive losses with a 2-2 draw against West Brom, they only did so thanks to an 83rd minute own goal from Jonny Evans. They’re particularly lacklustre going forwards, with Rafa Benitez struggling to find a plan B to compensate for Dwight Gayle’s new found goal-scoring phobia; still, the 28-year old is Newcastle’s best option, and had a Super Mega PGM of 12-16. Chelsea, meanwhile, haven’t been at their free-flowing best in recent weeks. The Blues seem to vacillate between 4-0 stonkers and 1-0 scraps, and not necessarily based on the quality of their opposition. Yet with the likes of Alvaro Morata, who has a Super Mega PGM of 54-62, and Eden Hazard, at 42-49, they should be able to see off the visitors, with Spreadex offering a Chelsea/Newcastle Goal Supremacy spread of 1.75-1.95 alongside a Total Goals spread of 3-3.2. Saturday afternoon then sees the biggest battle of the weekend, as Arsenal host Manchester United at 5.30pm on BT Sport 1. Since coming back from the most recent international break the Gunners have looked very strong indeed, a run that includes a win over Tottenham and a 5-0 hammering of Huddersfield. Frustratingly they’ll be without top scorer Alexandre Lacazette on Saturday, piling extra pressure on Olivier Giroud and Alexis Sanchez, who sit at 31-37 and 28-34 respectively, to perform. Man United have been in similarly forceful form in the second half of November, with a 1-0 win over Brighton sandwich between 4-1 and 4-2 romps against Newcastle and Watford. Yet, despite these impressive results, Mourinho still has a bit of a Romelu Lukaku issue. After a flying start the Belgian has scored just once in United’s last 11 games, a dry spell that’s left him with a slightly muted Super Mega PGM of 27-32. Saturday’s game could be mighty close, with Spreadex offering a narrow Arsenal/Man United Goal Supremacy spread of 0.05-0.25 and a Total Goals spread of 2.55-2.75. As for Sunday, fans are treated to a South Coast derby between Bournemouth and Southampton at 1.30pm on Sky Sports. Both sides are uncomfortably close to the relegation zone, with the Cherries on 14 points to the Saints’ 15. Each also lost their mid-week matches; though the fact it took a 96th minute strike from Raheem Sterling for Man City to beat Southampton is far better than Bournemouth nabbing a later consolation goal against Burnley. Whoever wins this fixture can put some much needed distance between them and the sides lurking at the bottom of the table. It’s going to be tight, however, with Spreadex offering a Southampton/Bournemouth (h) Goal Supremacy spread of 0-0.5 alongside a Total Goals spread of 2.35-2.55. Finally West Ham’s Swiss-cheese back line has every reason to be terrified when they travel to Manchester City at 4pm on Sky Sports. Despite facing a side whose new manager had been appointed so recently he was watching from the stands, the Hammers were utterly useless against Everton on Wednesday, losing 4-0. That’s left David Moyes’ side with the worst defence in the league – a scary thought given who they’re facing on Sunday. While they haven’t been quite as extraordinary since November began, Man City are still yet to lose a game this season, winning 20 out of 21 games in all competitions. And Raheem Sterling is in the form of his life, his 13 goals putting him ahead of Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus. That trio could do some colossal damage to the Hammers’ goal difference this weekend, with Spreadex offering a fairly conclusive Man City/West Ham Goal Supremacy spread of 2.75-2.95 alongside a Total Goals spread of 4-4.3.
