Will David Haye batter Tony Bellew when the 2 men meet this weekend, or is the Bermondsey boy just all talk?

The Hayemaker has been doing his best to provoke his bitter rival ahead of their fight, claiming that Bellew is ‘risking his life’ when he steps into the ring on Saturday night. He also seems to have tried to confuse his opponent’s team by fuelling rumours that a foot injury would cause he to pull out of the clash, admitting that he sent out a ‘few red herrings’ in the hopes that would disrupt Bellew’s training. And that’s not to mention the ugly press conference in November, where a shoving match ended with Haye throwing a punch at his opponent.

As for Bellew, this is the Creed star’s first foray in the heavyweight division, meaning that his WBC cruiserweight title isn’t on the line. The Liverpool lad hasn’t lost a fight since 2013, winning his last 8 fights. In contrast Haye has fought just 3 times since his unanimous decision defeat against Wladimir Klitschko back in 2011, with a 3 and a half year gap between his victory over Dereck Chisora and the wins against Mark de Mori and Arnold Gjergjaj in 2016.

In part due to the fact that this is Bellew’s first heavyweight fight, Hayes is odd-on favourite at 1/8 to win in London on Saturday. That would potentially set up a contest against Anthony Joshua, though the IBF heavyweight champion has backed Bellew for the win. The Hayemaker also sits at a 10-3 Supremacy spread of 23.5-26.5 with Fight Minutes at 15-16.5, and has a binary spread of 81.8-88.9 to win the fight compared to Bellew’s 10-16.7.
