Can Hull lift themselves out of the relegation zone with an away win over Middlesbrough, at 8pm on Sky Sports 1? Both sides have struggled since returning to the Premier League; Boro sit on 12 points in 16th place, while Hull are in 19th on 11. The wafer thin difference between the 2 teams makes Monday’s game all the more important, especially for the Tigers, who could leap all the way up to 15th with a win. Not that those have been very easy to find for Hull; after a strong start saw them rack up 2 in a row, they went without a victory in 8 league games, losing 7 and drawing just once. November ended up being a decent month for the club, however. While a that long-awaited win against Southampton was followed by the nasty set back of a 3-0 loss against relegation rivals Sunderland, Mike Phelan’s side managed to take a point off of West Brom. Best of all, a penalties-victory against a strong Newcastle side has taken them in the semi-finals of the EFL Cup, a result Phelan will be hoping can inspire greater things in the league. If Hull are to climb into safety then Robert Snodgrass will need to continue his decent form; with 7 goals in all competitions the Scot heads to the Riverside Stadium with a Super Mega PGM of 12-16. Boro, meanwhile, might feel a bit unlucky to be stuck just above the relegation zone. They have managed draws against West Ham (granted, not much of an achievement this season), Arsenal, Manchester City and (barely) defending champions Leicester, while have lost 5 games to Hull’s 8. Nevertheless a win on Monday is just as important for Aitor Karanka as it is for Phelan, potentially allowing Boro to put some distance between them and the drop. If that is to happen Karanka could really do with Negredo, who sits at a Super Mega PGM of 41-48, upping his game. After making a splash in his Middlesbrough debut he failed to score again until last weekend, where he admittedly nabbed a brace against the Foxes. Despite being just one point apart Boro have looked far more solid this season, with Spreadex offering a Middlesbrough/Hull Goal Supremacy spread of 0.6-0.8 alongside a Total Goals spread of 2.2-2.4.
