Can Liverpool make it a record 5 English sides in the Champions League knockouts with a win over Spartak Moscow, at 7.45pm on BT Sport 2? Of their English peers, the Reds are the only team yet to confirm their place in the last 16. On 9 points to Sevilla’s 8 and Spartak’s 6, Liverpool will qualify with a draw and definitely take 1st place with a win; if they lose, however, they need their Spanish groupmates to suffer an unlikely defeat at the hands of Maribor. Domestically Liverpool are on a fairly impressive, free-scoring run, with 5 wins, 1 draw and 19 goals in their last 6 league matches. They haven’t been quite as strong in Europe, however. Though they are yet to lose a game, they’ve only actually beaten Maribor, drawing their other 3 fixtures (the most ignominious result coming at the end of November as Liverpool throw away a 3-0 first half lead against Sevilla). At least Mohammed Salah has been consistent in both; the Egyptian’s league-leading 12 goals domestically is joined by another 5 in the Champions League, leaving him with a bulging Super Mega PGM of 62-72. That kind of attack should see the Reds over the line on Wednesday, with Spreadex offering a Liverpool/Spartak Moscow Goal Supremacy spread of 2.05-2.25 alongside a Total goals spread of 3.55-3.75. Elsewhere Manchester City will be chasing a flawless record when they travel to Shakhtar Donetsk, at 7.45pm on BT Sport ESPN. The Premier League’s resident rompers are still yet to lose a game in any competition this season, a record that sees them with 5 consecutive wins, and the guaranteed top spot, in the Champions League’s Group F. Given they’ve already qualified – and are facing a Manchester derby on Sunday – it’ll be interesting to see what kind of side Pep Guardiola puts out. Shakhtar will be hoping Raheem Sterling (at a Super Mega PGM of 16-20), Gabriel Jesus (at 31-37) and Sergio Aguero (at 37-43) are all absent, as the Ukrainian champs need to avoid defeat – or have Napoli fail to beat Feyenoord – to reach the next round. It’s going to be tight, with Spreadex offering a Man City/Shakhtar (h) Goal Supremacy spread of 0-0.2 alongside a Total Goals spread of 2.6-2.8. Finally Tottenham could do with hitting the reset button when they host APOEL, at 7.45pm on BT Sport 3. Spurs could do with a big win on Wednesday. They’ve won just one of their last 6 league games, with losses to Man United, Arsenal and Leicester joined by draws against West Brom and Watford. Luckily for Tottenham they’ve already sorted out their spot in the last 16, meaning Mauricio Pochettino can rest the likes of Harry Kane, Christian Eriksen and Eric Dier. That leaves the spotlight on an out-of-form Dele Alli, who heads to Wembley with a Super Mega PGM of 33-39. As for APOEL, they could still reach the Europa League after twice holding Borussia Dortmund to a draw. If they could get just a point off of Spurs they could reach the next round, dependant on whether the Germans avoid defeat against Real Madrid. That might be too much to ask, however, with Spreadex offering a Tottenham/APOEL Goal Supremacy spread of 1.5-1.7 alongside a Total Goals spread of 2.95-3.15.
