Saturday could see a potentially crucial blow struck in the race for 2nd place, when Manchester United host Liverpool at 12.30pm on Sky Sports. Only 2 points separate the long-time rivals, with United just about having the edge over Jurgen Klopp’s lot. Yet here really isn’t much in it form-wise. Liverpool played mid-week, but have only lost one league game since the end of October and are its 2nd top scorers with 67 goals. Mourinho’s men, meanwhile, have turned Old Trafford into a fortress once again, with just one defeat on home turf – to Man City – in all competitions. It may end up coming down to the fluidity of their respective forwards. Though Romelu Lukaku has (re)found his feet in the last few months, the Belgian sitting at a Super Mega PGM of 27-32, Mohamed Salah is arguably the signing of the season, his 32 goals across the Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League leaving him with a spread of 33-39. Still, it really is too close to call, with Spreadex offering a choice Man United/Liverpool Goal Supremacy spread of -0.1-0.1 alongside a Total Goals spread of 2.55-2.75 and a Bookings spread of 50-54. The afternoon then sees Chelsea try and keep up a push for the top 4 when they face Crystal Palace at 5.30pm on BT Sport 1. One imagines Antonio Conte will want to get through Saturday’s fixture with minimal fuss given the Blues travel to Barcelona on Wednesday. However, they can’t afford to be lax. Chelsea have lost 4 of their last 5 league games, their sole win coming against bottom of the table West Brom. They could really do with Alvaro Morata getting back on the scoresheet, with the Spaniard at a Super Mega PGM of 50-58. As for Palace, they’ve slipped back into the relegation zone – if only just – after failing to pick up a league win since January 13th. They came close last weekend, leading Man United 2-0 heading into the break, only to capitulate in the 2nd half, with a 91st minute winner from Nemanja Matic denying them even a point. It’ll be a challenge to get anything out of their trip to Stamford Bridge, with Spreadex offering a Chelsea/Crystal Palace Goal Supremacy spread of 1.65-1.85 alongside a Total Goals spread of 2.85-3.05. Moving on to Sunday and Arsenal will be looking to build on the momentum gained mid-week when they host Watford at 1.30 pm on Sky Sports. Things were looking pretty bleak for the Gunners heading into the San Siro on Thursday, the club coming off 4 consecutive losses for the first time since October 2002. However, they came away from Italy with a crucial 2-0 away win, one that will do as much for their confidence as their progress in the Europa League. Even better is the fact that they will have Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang at their disposal on Sunday, with the Frenchman at a Super Mega PGM of 63-73. Watford have been one of the more consistent sides this season. For every shock win – they beat Arsenal 2-1 back in October, and smashed Chelsea 4-1 at the start of February – there are long passages of uselessness. They’ve been in decent form of late, however, and while Spreadex are offering an Arsenal/Watford Goal Supremacy spread of 1.2-1.4, the Hornets have proven their capacity to surprise. Finally Tottenham try and recover from their European disappointment when they travel to Bournemouth at 4pm on Sky Sports. Spurs must be absolutely gutted that they’re out of the Champions League, a 3 minute period in the second half against Juventus undoing all their hard work and leaving them with their first loss since mid-December. At least their weekend fixture shouldn’t be too taxing. Though in 12th, the Cherries are one of the league’s many sides that could easily become embroiled in the relegation battle in the space of a few bad results, with Spreadex offering a Tottenham/Bournemouth (h) Goal Supremacy spread of 1.05-1.25 alongside a Total Goals spread of 2.95-3.15.
