It’s a big Tuesday for the Home Nations, with Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland all seeing Euro 2020 qualifying action! For the Scots it’s an imposing trip to Brussels, as they face Belgium at 7.45pm on Sky Sports Main Event. After an unbeaten Nations League campaign, Euro qualifying got off to the worst start imaginable, slumping to a 3-0 loss in Kazakhstan. A 2-0 win in their 2nd game was an improvement, though the fact they couldn’t put more past San Marino doesn’t bode well. On Saturday they then countered a late equaliser with an even later winner against Cyprus, leaving them on the same 6 points as 2nd place Russia, but well behind on goal difference.
In comparison, Belgium are yet to lose a game. A 3-1 opening win over Russia saw them see off their main group rivals, following that up with routine wins over Cyprus and Kazakhstan. With Romelu Lukaku at a Super Mega PGM at 63-73 and Eden Hazard at 48-56, the hosts should continue that run. Spreadex are offering a Belgium/Scotland Goal Supremacy spread of 2.25-2.45, alongside a Total Goals spread of 3.25-3.45. In a cagey Group E, Wales will be looking to dent Hungary’s hopes at 7.45pm on Sky Sports Football. A narrow victory over Slovakia had gotten the Welsh campaign off to a decent start. However Saturday saw them slip to a 2-1 loss against last year’s beaten World Cup finalists Croatia, a 77th minute lifeline from David Brooks failing to lead to an equaliser. Brooks could start in Budapest, and sits at a Super Mega PGM of 12-16, well off Gareth Bale’s 33-39. As for Hungary, they’ve won 2 of their 3 fixtures, an opening loss against Slovakia following by an important victory over Croatia and a solid 3-1 win in Azerbaijan. It makes Tuesday’s game hard to call, with the visitors just about having the edge at a Wales/Hungary (h) Goal Supremacy spread of 0-0.2, alongside a Total Goals spread of 2.15-2.35. Finally, Northern Ireland will be aiming to continue their Group C-topping run when they travel to Belarus, at 7.45pm on Sky Sports Premier League. Dealt an unforgiving draw – they have been paired with Germany and the Netherlands – so far Michael O’Neill’s men have done exactly what they need to do, beating the group’s ostensibly ‘lesser’ sides. A 2-0 victory over Estonia was followed by a late winner against Belarus, and a 2-1 comeback in Talinn. The Belarussians, meanwhile, are winless after 3 games, that aforementioned loss in Belfast joined by a 4-0 hammering in Rotterdam and a 2-0 defeat at home to Germany. They are likely to be on the losing end tonight as well, with Spreadex offering a Northern Ireland/Belarus Goal Supremacy spread of 0.05-0.25.
