Which former Premier League stalwart, Aston Villa or Middlesbrough, will reach the Championship play-off final at Wembley?

Since about last October, Villa have been locked on for a place in the play-offs, without ever really entering the race for automatic promotion. Only once did they enter the top 2, the culmination of a 7 game winning streak from the close of 2017 to mid-February, and even then that flirtation was over in about a week.

Still, their relative consistency shouldn’t be sniffed at – it served them well in their semi-final 1st leg at the Riverside Stadium. Though they didn’t see as much of the ball as Boro, they were better with it, Mile Jedinak converting from Jack Grealish’s corner after just 15 minutes.

With 14 Championship goals this season – more than any single Villa player – Britt Assombalonga could be the difference maker for Boro. The Congolese striker has a Super Mega PGM of 24-29, followed by Patrick Bamford at 19-32 and Jack Harrison at 9-13.

It looks like the 2nd leg is going to be just as tight as the first, with Spreadex offering a slender Aston Villa/Middlesbrough Goal Supremacy spread of 0.25-0.45 alongside a Total Goals spread of 2.15-2.35, and a Bookings spread of 54-58.
