Can Antonio Conte ease some of his second season blues when Chelsea host Roma at 7.45pm on BT Sport 3? A 1-0 loss to Man City at the end of September is excusable. A 2-1 defeat to Crystal Palace, a team who in the 7 league games prior not only failed to pick up a point but couldn’t score a single goal, is a travesty. And this was no late winner – Palace held onto their lead for the full 45 minutes of the 2nd half, with the Blues suffering in the absence of N’Golo Kante and Alvaro Morata (they still had Batshuayi, Willian and Hazard on the pitch mind). Morata will be back for Wednesday’s Champions League tie, even if Kante won’t, and heads into the game with a Super Mega PGM of 53-61. Chelsea have looked strong in Europe, following up a 6-0 hammering of Qarabag with a hard fought, last gasp 2-1 win over Atletico Madrid in Spain. As for last year’s Serie A silver medallists, they have struggled against the league’s leaders, with defeats to Inter Milan and, on Saturday, Napoli. Roma does, however, have an in form Edin Dzeko, the Bosnian’s 8 goals in all competitions giving him a Super Mega PGM of 25-30. Victory against the Italians, who drew against Atletico and only narrowly beat the Azerbaijani champs, would put the Blues in command of Group C, with Spreadex offering a Chelsea/Roma Goal Supremacy spread of 1.05-1.25 alongside a Total Goals spread of 3.05-3.25. After suffocating Liverpool at the weekend, will Jose Mourinho’s Man United be a bit more ambitious when they travel to Benfica, at 7.45pm on BT Sport 2? United allowed Man City to open up a 2 point gap at the top of the table this weekend, after Mourinho seemingly played for a draw at Anfield. Still, they’re yet to lose a game since the UEFA Super Cup defeat to Real Madrid, and have dominated Group A, beating Basel and CSKA Moscow 3-0 and 4-1 respectively. And while Romelu Lukuku was frustrated on Saturday, his 11 goals in 11 games is a fantastic record that leaves him with a Super Mega PGM of 42-49. Despite being Portuguese champions Benfica have completely rolled over in Europe so far this season, losing 2-1 at home to CSKA before suffering a humiliating 5-0 thumping in Basel. The visitors, then, will be confident of making it 3 wins in 3 games, at a Manchester United/Benfica (h) Goal Supremacy spread of 0.6-0.8 alongside a Total Goals spread of 2.45-2.65. Finally Celtic will be looking to avoid a repeat of their PSG nightmare when they face Bayern Munich at 7.45pm on BT Sport Extra. To be fair to the Bhoys, they bounced back from that horrific 5-0 defeat to Paris Saint Germain in spirited fashion, beating Anderlecht 3-0 in Belgium to cement themselves as favourites for the group’s Europe League spot. Brendan Rodgers and co. may not want to settle for that just yet. Celtic could actually leapfrog Bayern Munich with a win on Wednesday, after the Germans followed up their own 3-0 victory over Anderlecht with a 3-0 loss in Paris. A result at the Allianz Arena appears incredibly unlikely, however, not least since Robert Lewandowski – who has 12 games in all competitions – is at an absurd Super Mega PGM of 125-150. All in all it could be a pretty bleak evening for the visitors, with Spreadex offering a Bayern Munich/Celtic Goal Supremacy spread of 2.8-3 alongside a Total Goals spread of 4.05-4.35.
