Will Man City maul Leicester when the 2 sides meet in Tuesday’s EFL Cup quarter-final, at 7.45pm on Sky Sports? Pep Guardiola’s men are in the midst of a truly ridiculous run of form. Saturday’s 4-1 victory over Tottenham – at one point title contenders, now 21 points off City in 7th place – marked a number of things. First and foremost it was City’s 16th consecutive Premier League win this season, breaking the record the side had set the Wednesday before against Swansea. It also meant that they’ve now beaten the other 5 teams that made up last season’s top 6, scoring 15 goals and conceding just 3 against those sides who are ostensibly their title competition. On an individual basis, Raheem Sterling’s late brace took his tally for all competitions to 15 goals – 11 in the league and 4 in Europe – already overtaking the 11 and 10 goals in managed in his first 2 season at City respectively. Sterling heads into Tuesday’s quarter-final at a Super Mega PGM of 27-32, only behind Sergio Aguero at 58-68 and Gabriel Jesus at 42-49. Interestingly City haven’t been quite as rampant in the EFL Cup. The 3rd round saw a narrow 2-1 victory over West Brom – namely thanks to a brace from Leroy Sane, who sits at 25-30 – while in the 4th round they were forced to penalties by Championship leaders Wolves. In contrast Leicester have been far more confident in the Carabao Cup. They entered in the 2nd round, trouncing Sheffield United 4-1, before beating Liverpool in the 3rd round and Leeds 3-1 in the 4th. Their league form, however, has been far spottier. The Foxes were actually on a pretty tasty little run from the end of November, racking 4 league wins in a row, including a well-deserved 2-1 victory over Tottenham. Yet that all came crashing down on Sunday, as they slumped to a 3-0 loss against Crystal Palace. That’s not the best preparation for a cup-tie against the Premier League champions-elect, and it shows in the prices Spreadex are offering, with a Man City/Leicester (h) Goal Supremacy spread of 1.1-1.3 alongside a Total Goals spread of 3.1-3.3.
