It is crunch time in the Championship with just a handful of clubs involved in neither the promotion race nor the relegations scrap. Plenty riding on nearly every game will certainly add excitement for online betting punters and our Championship betting preview for our partner clubs features seven matches this week.
The first of our partner clubs in action is Norwich City who face Ipswich town in an interesting online betting heat. The Tractor Boys have motored their way to the top of the league and are marginal favourites ahead of this one at 29/20 whilst the Canaries are 17/20 to claim a vital three points in their play-off push.
Welsh striker Kieffer Moore has been a good signing since joining on loan from Bournemouth in January and we have boosted the big target man to score a hat trick from 33/1 to 50/1.
In our football spread betting markets, you can buy or sell bookings at 49-53 for this derby clash whilst with Ipswich scoring 30% of their goals in the last 15 minutes this season, there will be interest in the Total Goal Minutes market at 147-157.
A resounding 5-1 win over Sunderland last weekend gave John Eustace his first win in charge at Ewood Park and he will be looking to repeat the trick on Saturday as Rovers welcome Southampton to Lancashire.
A poor Easter weekend saw Southampton lose ground on the top three and they need to get all three points in this one if they are to cling on to their slim automatic promotion hopes. Now out to 100/1 in our Championship winner odds after a poor run of recent form, Saints are 3/4 to triumph on the road this weekend.
With a five point buffer to the bottom three, Blackburn realistically only need one more win to make them safe and they are 29/10 to get it tomorrow with the draw at 3/1.
Hull City travel to Wales six points behind sixth placed Norwich City, but they do have a game in hand on the East Anglian outfit. The Tigers have flattered to deceive a touch in recent weeks, playing pretty football, but looking a bit toothless up front on occasions.
Still, after a losing late on against Leeds on Monday, Hull are the 13/10 favourites when they face partner club Cardiff City with the draw at 21/10.
After last season’s flirt with relegation Bluebirds fans may well have settled for a top half finish and with Hull winless in their last six and losing their last two, Cardiff will certainly have their backers at a price of 21/20.
In our football spread betting markets, you can buy or sell Total Goals at 2.3-2.5 whilst those who prefer a slightly more volatile market may wish to take a look at Goals Cubed which is currently 32-27.
There is a huge clash taking place in West Yorkshire this weekend as Huddersfield Town look to escape the drop zone with a win against fellow strugglers Millwall. Draws have been the problem for the Terriers this season, with only Charlton claiming a solitary point on more occasions in the whole of the Football League this season.
Another draw can be backed at 2/1 this weekend with 1-1 priced at 5/1 and 0-0 priced at 6/1. A point doesn’t do much good for Town though and Andre Breitenreiter may well try and cut loose in this one. His side are 29/20 to get three points whilst an away win for the side from the capital can be backed at 21/20.
At 1/66 in our Championship Top 6 odds, West Bromwich Albion’s season almost certainly won’t be done on 4th May with Carlos Corberan looking for play-off success after missing out in the final with Huddersfield Town a few years ago.
The Baggies have an eight point gap to seventh placed Coventry and they are a generous-looking 7/4 to record a victory on the road in Staffordshire. Stoke, for their part, have finally got their act together and seven points from their last four league matches has seen the Potters rise to 18th, five places above the drop zone.
Steven Schumacher’s side can be backed to win at 17/10 whilst the draw is available at 2/1.
Sunderland’s 5-1 reverse on Easter Monday will hardly have helped the moos at the Stadium of Light where the Black Cats’ season has fallen away since the turn of the year. The ill-fated appointment of Michael Beale was an experiment gone wrong yet despite just having one win in nine matches to their name, they enter this clash as 11/8 favourites.
Bristol City – recent victors over Leicester City at Ashton Gate – will go into their longest away trip of the season as 21/10 shots whilst the draw is 2/1. City’s Tommy Conway has scored two goals in his last six matches in all competitions and the 21-year-old has been boosted from 2/1 to 12/5 to hit the back of the net anytime in Wearside.
Our final match in this bumper betting preview sees Watford given an even money chance to beat Preston North End. With a win and two draws to their name since Tom Cleverley took interim charge, things are looking up for the Hornets, though things could have been perfect had they not shipped 86th and 91st minute equalisers against Leeds and West Brom respectively.
Preston, for their part, started the season like a house on fire, but they are one of a raft of clubs stuck just outside the play-offs at the moment and how Ryan Lowe would love to see his side triumph at a price of 5/2 this weekend.
There has only been one clean sheet in Watford’s last five league matches and you can back Both Teams To Score at 4/5 whilst the Total Goals football spread betting market is 2.4-2.6.
