Can Brentford leap into the top half of the Championship table with a win over QPR, at 7.45pm on Sky Sports Football?

The Bees can jump all the way from 15th to 10th if they beat the Hoops on Monday evening. It took a while for Brentford to get going this season, with the West London club drawing 4 and losing 4 in their first 8 games. Since then, however, they’ve been a lot better, with one defeat (to 2nd place Cardiff), 4 draws and 5 wins in their last 10 Championship fixtures.

The 21-year old summer signing Ollie Watkins has proved to be a great bit of business for Brentford; he has 7 goals in all competitions, and goes into Monday at a Super Mega PGM of 33-39. As for Queens Park Rangers, they’re on a duff run, losing all 3 of their Championship games in November, conceding 8 and scoring just once. And before that things weren’t particularly great, with a 6 match winless streak between 12th September and 21st October. There have been flashes of greatness, however; in between these two periods of misery QPR managed to beat league leaders Wolves and 3rd place Sheffield United in their final 2 fixtures in October.

Unlike for Brentford, upfront duties at Loftus Road have been evenly split, Matt Smith (at a Super Mega PGM of 35-41), Conor Washington (at 27-32) and James Mackie (at 16-20), all of whom have 4 Championship goals apiece.

The two sides have already met once this season, with Brentford smashing QPR 4-1, at Loftus Road, in the EFL Cup. Dean Smith will be aiming for a similar result this time out, especially since the middle of the table is divvied up largely on goal difference, with Spreadex offering a Brentford/QPR (h) Goal Supremacy spread of 0.1-0.3 alongside a Total Goals spread of 2.85-3.05.
