There’s less than a fortnight until the 2017/18 Premier League season begins, so what better time to take a look at who is going to dominate the score sheets this year! Unsurprisingly sitting atop the pack is Harry Kane, winner of the Golden Boot for the past 2 seasons in a row. Injury permitting the England forward has an unchallenged spot in the Spurs starting 11, and will be hoping to help propel the North London club to their first ever Premier League title with a Total Goals spread of 21.5-23 (remember, the bet is void if a player doesn’t play for 1000 minutes). Trailing Kane is Romelu Lukaku, who finished on 25 goals to the Englishman’s 29 last season. One could make the argument that the Belgian might be in for an even greater haul this year since he has swapped Goodison Park for Old Trafford, though our traders have erred on the conservative side, offering a spread of 18.5-20. At least one of the two big questions hanging over Arsenal during the pre-season has been answered. After an unsuccessful pursuit of Kylian Mbappe, Wenger opted for a different French forward: Lyon’s Alexandre Lacazette. All the signs are looking good, and the 26-year old heads into his first season of English football with an impressive Total Goals spread of 17.5-19. With their upfront problems ostensibly sorted, the other issue for Wenger to resolve is the fate of Alexis Sanchez, who sits at 17-18.5. The size of the Chilean’s spread shows how important it is for Arsenal to keep hold of (arguably) their best player by the time the transfer window closes. Despite Pep Guardiola not being his biggest fan, Sergio Aguero still managed to bang in 20 goals last season, continuing his remarkably consistent record in sky blue. His main obstacle to matching that total could come from within his own team, as Gabriel Jesus, who scored 7 goals in 10 games during his injury-blighted half year at Man City, looks to cement his place. Aguero’s experience has benefited him in the Total Goals spread, however, the Argentine at 15-16.5 to his Brazilian teammate’s 14-15.5. Sandwiched between Aguero and Jesus in the Individual Player Goals top 10 is Chelsea newbie Alvaro Morata. The Spanish international already has a whole host of medals despite being just 24, including Serie A, La Liga and Champions League titles. That meant it cost Conte a cool £58 million to take him off Zinedine Zidane’s hands, and the Italian manager will be hoping he outperforms his 14.5-16 Total Goals spread, one that isn’t a world away from Eden Hazard’s 12.5-14. The second Spurs player to make the list, Dele Alli sits at 12-13.5. The 21-year old had an absolute scorcher of a 2016/17 season, scoring 18 goals – that more than (the admittedly injured) Zlatan Ibrahimovic – and will be key to any potential title-push from Tottenham. Rounding out the top 10 is Christian Benteke, also at 12-13.5. While the Belgian was a bitter disappointment at Liverpool, he seems to have got his mojo back at Crystal Palace, banging in 15 goals last season to help keep the London club away from the relegation zone.
