TENNIS - CINCINNATI MASTERS

Tennis spread betting punters will have their eyes fixed on another North American Masters event in the lead-up to the US Open as this week's action takes place at the Cincinnati Masters. There was a major shock at the Montreal Masters as the unheralded Alexei Popyrin claimed his maiden title, but with several players either out or suffering Olympic hangovers, the Cincinnati crown will be a prime target for the returning Carlos Alcaraz.

Alcaraz indeed begins as the betting favourite with a tournament index of 32.5 - 35.5, just ahead of Jannik Sinner at 29.5 - 32.5 and Daniil Medvedev at 18 - 21. Novak Djokovic has opted to miss the trip to Cincinnati. Popyrin may appeal to buyers as a dark horse to go far in the tournament if he retains any energy from his Montreal exertions and begins at a spread of just 0.1 - 1.

This market is settled on a 60-40-20-10-5 scale, ranging from tournament winner to losing in the round of 16. Any players eliminated before the round of 16 settle at a 0. So, if Popyrin managed another strong run and reached the quarter-finals, buying at 1 would leave buyers with 19x profit (20 settlement if losing quarter-finalist).

CRICKET - THE HUNDRED

And finally, cricket punters will have several matches from The Hundred to enjoy this week as the action hots up with the final taking place on Sunday at Lord's. With one match remaining for each of the teams, who will qualify?

The team who finishes top of the Group Stage - currently the Oval Invincibles - will progress to the Final. The teams who finish second and third during the Group Stage will play in the Eliminator, and the winner of that match will play in the Final.
