Bets Of The Week

Football dominates the major betting events of the week once again, as the finale of the 2022/23 Premier League season approaches. Although the title race has now ended with Man City reclaiming their crown, there are still important confirmations at both ends of the table. With Newcastle confirming their ticket to Champions League football next season, it is now a fight between Man Utd and Liverpool for the final spot.

It would take a mighty collapse from Utd to be usurped now, but in football we simply never know until it's over. Meanwhile, at the other end of the table, there are still three sides which could face relegation. Leeds and Leicester are currently in the drop zone and know only one (at best) will be able to leapfrog Everton, who have their destiny in their own hands.

In other sport, the second Grand Slam of the year begins on Sunday at Roland Garros in Paris and the headline before the tournament is the withdrawal of Rafael Nadal - with no guarantees we will ever see the King of Clay back on this favourite court of his ever again. However, with the withdrawal of the Spanish great, several storylines could emerge.

World Number One and current Spanish hero Carlos Alcaraz could put his stamp on this new era by claiming a second major title where his countryman so dominated, while Novak Djokovic can move ahead in the outright Grand Slam title record books, or we may see a first-time Slam winner with the likes of Holger Rune or Stefanos Tsitsipas.

Read on below for our betting events of the week!

FOOTBALL – MAN UTD V CHELSEA

After a rollercoaster season for Man Utd, Erik ten Hag could yet end his first season in charge with two trophies and returning the Red Devils to Champions League football. Utd need just one point from their final two matches to secure the latter, and the first of which comes against a Chelsea side guaranteed to end the season with their lowest-ever Premier League points total.

Ten Hag's side are the pre-match favourites ahead of this meeting at Old Trafford, coming in at odds of 8/13 on the fixed odds outright, and with a Supremacy spread of 0.9 - 1.1 goals.

However, it is with our boosted markets where you will be spoiled for choice. We currently have the following boosts live:

Anytime Goalscorer - Marcus Rashford
Anytime Goalscorer - Raheem Sterling

FOOTBALL – EVERTON V BOURNEMOUTH (AND THE RELEGATION BATTLE)

Everton are the only relegation-candidate side who have their destiny in their own hands on the final day, but it is unlikely to be a simple proposition. Although already-safe Bournemouth have little to play for on paper, the Cherries have proven to be quite the bogey team for the Toffees. They have beaten them no less than four times in succession, and scored at least THREE GOALS in each of those victories, (two 3-1 victories, one 4-0 and one 3-0).

Sean Dyche will be comforted by a potential downing of tools by the visitors though as they have lost their last three league matches, and Spreadex have installed the home side as substantial favourites for the win at Goodison Park - 4/9 on the fixed odds, and with a goal supremacy spread of 1.15 - 1.35. With the recent meetings all seeing plenty of goals, Total Goal Minutes could look appealing to buyers at 146 - 156.

With survival still possible for three sides and all facing home matches, expect all three to battle right to the final whistle. A three-fold acca of Leicester, Everton, and Leeds all to win their final matches is available at 8/1 on the fixed odds!

TENNIS – FRENCH OPEN WINNER (OUTRIGHT)

In possibly the first time since 2004, we enter a Roland Garros in which there is no consensus favourite to win the crown - certainly not to the extent that 14-time champion Nadal entered each year he stepped on the dirt. The outright betting favourite at 11/8 is current world number one Carlos Alcaraz and form this season certainly suggests he is the man to beat, but there are several contenders who will be fancying their chances this year.

Novak Djokovic is second-favourite and perhaps logically so. Although the Serbian great has not looked at his best in this clay court season, he is a two-time winner of this tournament and has the added motivation of knowing he will set himself ahead of Nadal and Roger Federer if he is to grab a 23rd Grand Slam title in Paris. Djokovic comes into the tournament at 2/1 on the fixed odds.

Aside from Alcaraz and Djokovic, several more contenders wait in the wings with their own reasons for fancying their chances. Daniil Medvedev could be a dark horse not many would have predicted just several weeks ago, but the former number one won his first ever clay court title at the Rome Masters last weekend and seems to have found something special on a surface he previously openly hated. Medvedev is available at an appealing 12/1.

Two other men to keep an eye out for are former finalist Stefanos Tsitsipas, available at 10/1, and young Danish star Holger Rune at 9/1.
