Spread Bets Of The Day
Man City chase a 5th EFL Cup final in 7 seasons, Liverpool look to go 19 points clear, and Djokovic and Federer meet in the Australian Open semi-finals. It’s the Spread Bets of the Day! 1. Man City v Man United – Sergio Aguero SMM, 76-88It’s a sign of how seriously Pep Guardiola takes the Carabao Cup – not a guarantee given the club’s domestic and European priorities; just look at Liverpool – that City are chasing their 3rd consecutive title. Even before Guardiola the club has recent pedigree in the competition, winning it 4 times in the last 6 seasons. They’ve already have one foot in the final. They bossed the 1st leg against Man United, scoring thrice before half-time at Old Trafford. Marcus Rashford did provide the hosts with a lifeline in the 2nd half, though United don’t exactly seem well-positioned to capitalise on that. Sunday’s 6-0 win over Tranmere will have eased the pressure on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, but only slightly. Another loss on Wednesday will put him back in the danger zone; defeat against Wolves on Saturday could be catastrophic. But, back to the EFL Cup. Sergio Aguero has 6 goals in his last 3 games, and could be the man to ensure City’s place in the final. He’d likely need at least a brace, however, to make his sizeable SMM spread of 76-88 worth it... 2. West Ham v Liverpool – Time of Last Liverpool Goal, 60-63If Liverpool win on Wednesday night – and given they are up against a West Ham side who lost to West Brom at the weekend, it seems highly likely – they will be 19 points clear at the top of the table. That means they could lose every game between now and mid-March and still not be usurped. In 9 of their 23 league game so far, Liverpool have scored in or after the 80th minute. In fact, it’s happened in both of their last 2 league fixtures: Salah got the Reds’ 2nd deep into injury time against United, while Firmino stole the win against Wolves with 6 minutes to go. Expand that investigation to a goal after the 70 minute mark and its 14 out of 23. It might be worth taking a look, then, at Spreadex’s Time of Last Liverpool Goal spread of 60-63. 3. Roger Federer v Novak Djokovic – Djokovic/Federer Match Supremacy, 15.5-18.5Djokovic and Federer have had very different routes to the final 4. Since dropping a set in the 1st round the defending champion has almost been on autopilot, spitting out his challengers with alarming efficiency. Ol’ Roge, meanwhile, feels like he is making one last stand. An unexpected 5-setter in the 3rd round was followed by an early wobble in the 4th. Then, in the quarter-finals, the all-time great battled through groin injury, and 10 match points, to secure his 15th Australian Open semi. Though they are rarer than they once were, Federer can beat Djokovic. He has won 23 encounters to the Serb’s 26, and came out of their last meeting at the ATP Finals triumphant. However, he isn’t playing his best tennis; Novak is. Hence the one-sided Djokovic/Federer match Supremacy spread of 15.5-18.5, where the winner gets 10 points plus a further 5 for every set won by.
