Spread Bets Of The Day
After yesterday’s goal fest, will tonight’s final six Carabao Cup 3rd Round games measure up to the excitement of last night?
Manchester United v West Ham
Arguably the tie of the round is at Old Trafford, where Manchester United face West Ham for the second time in four days. Sunday’s Premier League game had a thrilling climax, with United, already a goal to the good, denied a stonewall penalty before Luke Shaw gave away a spot kick at the other end for handling the call. David Moyes sent on club captain and speciality penalty taker Mark Noble in injury time to take the kick, only to see David de Gea make a great save to seal the three points. Can the Hammers gain revenge tonight?
Jesse Lingard Player Goal Minutes 15-18
Lingard scored the winner having climbed off the bench on Sunday, and with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer likely to rest some players, Lingard could well be in line for a start tonight. The England midfielder, who enjoyed a fantastic spell on loan with the Hammers last season, showed no mercy when a half chance presented itself on Sunday, and punters expecting him to continue that form against his old teammates will be buying his Goal Minutes at 18.
Wolves v Tottenham
Another two teams who are familiar with each other having met already this season are Wolves and Spurs, who clash at Molineux. More familiar than most is Nuno Espirito Santo, who brings his Spurs side back his old club for the second time in a month following his move south in the summer. Tottenham claimed a 1-0 win in the Premier League meeting, though it was generally accepted that Wolves deserved at least a point having missed a succession of chances.
Cross-Corners 20-23
With both managers expected to make changes, and with first team spots possibly up for grabs following disappointing results for both at the weekend, those selected tonight have extra incentive to impress. The Cross-Corners market multiplies Wolves total corners by Tottenham’s. With both sides likely to rely on full-backs to provide width and get crosses in, will that translate to more corners?
Chelsea v Aston Villa
It’s less than two weeks since Villa were last at Stamford Bridge, a 3-0 defeat scant reward for a decent performance. Villa actually edged the game in terms of expected goals (XG), with Chelsea expected to score 1.35 goals and Villa 1.37. But those stats just show how clinical the Blues are in front of goal, especially Romelu Lukaku, who grabbed a brace that day.
Bookings 29-32
That game two weeks ago was a volatile affair, with four Villa players ending up in the referee’s book, joining Chelsea’s Marcus Alonso. The Bookings market awards 10 points for a yellow card and 25 for a red, which gave a bookings total of 50. Will that be repeated tonight?
Who’s playing in today’s IPL game?
Delhi Capitals v Sunrisers Hyderabad
Delhi Capitals get their IPL campaign back underway after the five-month hiatus hoping to carry on the form that saw them win six of their seven games so far. Hyderabad were having a terrible season and stand bottom of the table, will the break have done them good?
Shikhar Dhawan Performance 36-40
The top scorer in this season’s IPL will be extra motivated to show what he can do, having been left out of India’s T20 World Cup squad. How will the 35-year-old opener react to his rejection? This market scored one per run, 10 per catch and 20 per wicket, plus 25 per stumping!
Is there any racing this evening?
Yes, the evening meeting at Kempton starts at 5.45pm
Multi-Mules (230-250)
This market multiplies the racecard number of the winning horse by the racecard number of the second place finisher and adds them up. Apart from the five-runner 7.15 race, there looks to be at least 10 runners across all the other seven races, giving the chance of two high numbers finishing 1st and 2nd and a larger make-up, but of course it depends on which horses go well. Anyone fancying a number of horses with higher racecards to run well this evening may buy here at 250, but if they see lower numbers dominating, selling at 230 could be the best option.
