Spread Bets Of The Day
What is the biggest Champions League game tonight?
Paris Saint Germain host Manchester City in a game that would be fit for the final. Of course, after his summer move from Barcelona, Lionel Messi will line up against one of his mentors, Pep Guardiola, who enjoyed so much success at the Nou Camp with the Argentine maestro.
Messi Player Goal Minutes 21-24
No player has scored more goals in the Champions League against Pep’s sides than Messi since Guardiola left the Nou Camp, and it would be just like the little Argentine to get on the scoresheet tonight. He’s not scored since moving to Paris so far though, will Messi have his shooting boots on tonight?
Porto v Liverpool
After conceding just one goal in their opening five Premier League games, Liverpool’s defence was being lauded. Now, after shipping three against Brentford, not to mention a couple in the 3-2 win against AC Milan in the opening Champions League game, there’s talk of a defensive crisis! Jurgen Klopp’s men are top of this group of death and, after Porto and Atletico Madrid drew their opener, the Reds would surely take a point now if it was offered from this tough trip to Portugal.
1st Porto Goal 56-59
Liverpool’s defence has looked a little shaky of late, but they head to Portugal knowing a point would be a great result looking at the group standings. If they keep a clean sheet, they’ll take at least a point, but Porto’s home record this season is more than a little daunting – played three, won three, scored 10, conceded 0. Who will come out on top tonight?
AC Milan v Atletico Madrid
In the other game in Liverpool’s group of death, Milan host Atletico Madrid. The Italian giants have started the season well, standing second in Serie A with five wins and a draw from their six games. Their only defeat this season came on Champions League Matchday 1 in Liverpool. Atletico come into this game on the back of a shock defeat at Alaves which has seen them fall three points behind their city rivals Madrid in the defence of their La Liga title.
Total Goal Minutes 110-120
We’ve seen money backing the unders on a number of markets, including Total Goal Minutes, as punters expect this to be a tight game. Atletico have drawn a couple of games recently 0-0, and that would be the dream results for unders backers in this market. But bearing in mind Milan lost their first group game 3-2, there’s no guarantee this will be a low scoring affair.
Is there any domestic football tonight?
For those who think the Champions League is all about money and fancy foreign footballers, there’s a full Football League schedule this midweek. Tonight’s biggest game looks to be the Championship clash between Middlesbrough and Sheffield United.
Performance Supremacy ShU/Boro 0-5
The bookies have this priced as almost a coin flip, yet we’ve seen money for the Blades, who look in much better form than Boro. United are unbeaten in seven games, while Middlesbrough have won just one of their past seven. This market awards 25 points for a win, 15 per goal, 10 for a clean sheet or a draw and 3 for a corner, with 15 and 5 taken off for red and yellow cards. Buyers will be hoping Sheffield United can keep up their recent form.
Is there any evening racing today?
There are 7 races on tonight’s card from Wolverhampton, starting at 5.30pm.
Jockeys Performance Oisin Murphy 39-42
Murphy is the favourite in the Jockeys Performance market, and it’s easy to see why. For a start, he has a runner in all 7 races, none of his rivals do. Murphy is on the favourite in two races and the second favourite in two more, but will that lead to top three finishes, or will one of the other jockeys come to the fore?
