After collapsing to a 381-run defeat in the first Test and now without influential Jonathan Trott, England will be hoping for a much improved display in the second Test in Adelaide, which begins at midnight tonight (Wednesday). We’re best price David Warner (17/4) and Chris Rogers (6/1) to be Top Australia Batsman and best price Cook (7/2), Michael Carberry (6/1) and Matt Prior (12/1) to be Top England Batsman. Our traders don’t give Cook’s side much hope over the five Tests, as we’re currently joint-industry best price on England to win the series at 7/2 and joint-industry best price on a series draw at 9/2. Elsewhere we’ll be covering the rest of the currently-underway New Zealand versus West Indies first Test, the South Africa v India second ODI on Sunday and third ODI on Wednesday, the New Zealand versus West Indies second Test from Tuesday and the Pakistan v Sri Lanka T20 clash on Wednesday.
There’s a strong line-up for the Nedbank Golf Challenge at the Gary Player Country Club in Sun City, South Africa with the action getting underway at 9am tomorrow (Thursday). Martin Kaymer is the defending champion but will have his work cut out against a field full of talent, boasting 30 of the best players from across the globe. This is the first time the tournament has been featured on the European Tour and we have Henrik Stenson leading the outright betting at 3/1 for the win followed by Charl Schwartzel at 11/2, Justin Rose 13/2, Sergio Garcia 10/1 and Kaymer and Luke Donald at 12/1. We’re also covering the goings on at the Northwestern Mutual World Challenge at Thousand Oaks, California. The 18-player event is hosted by Tiger Woods and after five wins during the 2013 PGA Tour season, we have Woods leading the betting at 5/2. He’s followed by Rory McIlroy - who dramatically snatched his first win of 2013 at the Australia Open last week - at 6/1, Graeme McDowell and Matt Kuchar at 12/1 and Steve Stricker, Dustin Johnson and Webb Simpson all at 14/1.
