Weekend's Big Winning Bets

Wembley played host to the largest boxing attendance in history on Saturday night as Tyson Fury retained his WBC title after stopping Dillian Whyte in the sixth round with a crunching uppercut.

That was probably the highlight of the sporting weekend but there were plenty of thrills and spills in the Premier League, Gallagher Premiership, Football League, and the IPL as we look at the big winning spread bets from the weekend.

Please remember that unlike fixed odds betting, losses can exceed deposits when spread betting.

ARSENAL v MANCHESTER UNITED - SHIRTS x BOOKINGS (SETTLED AT 4760)

The Premier League weekend kicked off with Manchester United’s trip to Arsenal and viewers were treated to an entertaining clash that saw plenty of action at both ends of the pitch.

Arsenal full back Nuno Tavares got the hosts off to a flyer before Bukayo Saka doubled the lead from the penalty spot after 32 minutes. Cristiano Ronaldo pulled one back just two minutes later and Ralf Ragnick’s side had the chance to go level, but Bruno Fernandes could only hit the post from his second half penalty.

The hosts punished that error and Granit Xhaka rounded off the scoring to cap a fine day for Arsenal fans. It was also a fine day for those who bought Shirts x Bookings as Tavares’ and Xhaka’s goals added a combined 54 to the 14 shirt number points provided by Saka and Ronaldo.

There was also a whopping 70 booking points with the spread settling at 4760 versus a line of 2050-2300 at kick-off. Buyers, therefore, came away with a win equal to 2460x their initial stake.

SATURDAY AND SUNDAY TV SPECIALS – GOALS CUBED (SETTLED AT 343)

That match between Arsenal and Manchester United was probably the most entertaining of the televised matches and those who sold Goals Cubed on the TV Specials found themselves in clover this weekend.

Alongside that game, we had Spurs’ 0-0 draw with Brentford, before ‘Super Sunday’ saw Chelsea’s scrappy 1-0 over West Ham and Liverpool’s 2-0 win over their Merseyside rivals. The total goals from the four matches was seven, meaning goals cubed settled at 343.

Before the weekend got underway the line was 2000-2300, and sellers needed 12 goals or fewer to turn a profit (12 goals would have resulted in a make-up of 1728 and a profit of 272x their stake), so seven was a great return for them and those who expected a goal-shy weekend were rewarded with a win equal to 1657x their stake.

ROYAL CHALLENGERS BANGALORE v SUNRISERS HYDERABAD - LAUNCH! (SETTLED AT 658)

For the second successive IPL match, Virat Kohli was out for a golden duck as his Royal Challengers Bangalore side crashed to a heavy defeat against Sunrisers Hyderabad having been bowled out for 68.

The visitors chased the total down in 8 overs with Abhishek Sharma the top scorer of the match as he posted a total of 47 before being caught by Anuj Rawat off a Harshal Patel delivery. A low scoring match was great news for those who had sold on the Launch! market.

This spread is settled on the total of the highest scoring batsman multiplied by the total runs scored in the highest scoring over. With Sharma holding up his side of the bargain with 47, the highest scoring over saw 14 scored meaning the spread settled at 658.

Before the first delivery of the day, the line was 1475-1575 as sellers came away with a win equal to 816x their stake.

Please note that these are examples of winning bets over the weekend, and it is important to remember that spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit.
