Daily Spread Betting Round-up
Another miserable road trip for Arsenal, a thumping performance from the Patriots and a classic showing from Federer make our Daily Spread Betting Roundup. But how much could you have won? Blades block out Gunners – Sheffield United vs ArsenalSheffield United’s 1-0 win over a consistently disappointing Arsenal may, at a glance, sound surprising. However, alongside Liverpool, the Blades have the best defence in the league, conceding only 7 goals in 9 games. If you’d kept that fact in mind, there was plenty of money to be made. Selling a Total Goals spread of 2.6-2.8 would have netted you 1.6 times your original bet, while buying a Sheffield United Win to Nil binary spread of 9-15.4 could have made you 84.6 times your initial stake. As Unai Emery highlighted after the game, Arsenal also conceded more corners than they would’ve liked, including the one that led to Lys Mousset’s 1st half goal. With 12 for the Gunners and 7 for Sheffield, the Corners make-up hit 19 against an opening spread of 10.8-11.3 – that’s a 7.7 multiplier to your original stake. Neither side was at their cleanest, either, including 2 cards from Mike Dean for diving. With 4 yellows apiece the Booking make-up came in at 80; take away the opening spread of 46-50, and that’s 30 times your initial bet. Patriots shoot down Jets – New England Patriots @ New York JetsAt roughly the half-way point of their 2019 season, it looks like the New England Patriots are a lock for the play-offs. Monday’s thumping 33-0 win over the New York Jets was their 7th consecutive victory, a record only really rivalled by the 49ers’ 6-0 showing. Even though they were fancied beforehand, at a Patriots/Jets Point Supremacy spread of 9-11, the size of the victory, and the limp performance of the Jets, was perhaps a shock. So much so that buying said spread could have won you 22 times your original stake. Federer floats in 2nd round – Roger Federer vs Peter GojowczykIn the 1500th tour-level match of his career, Roger Federer breezed past Peter Gojowczyk 6-2 6-1 in the 1st round of his Swiss Indoors title defence. That the ace would win wasn’t really in doubt. However, the way he shut down his German opponent meant that anyone who bought a Federer/Gokowczyk Game Supremacy spread of 4.8-5.8 would have made 3.2 times their initial bet.
