Daily Spread Betting Round-up
A spectacular showing from Jofra Archer, an Italian win for Wolves and Linfield’s ongoing European dream all make the Daily Spread Betting Roundup! Archer undoes Aussies – The Ashes 3rd Test Day 1Building on the form he found in that rainy draw at Lord’s, England’s Jofra Archer stepped things up a gear at the perfect time on Thursday. For the hosts were in trouble. Sat at 136-2, Australia’s 1st Innings Runs spread had reached 346-361, compared to an opening price of 254-269. And then 24-year old World Cup super over hero ended David Warners’s innings and the series-leaders collapsed. Archer was instrumental in their demise, claiming 6 wickets in his 2nd ever Test for a paltry 45 runs. It also meant Australia were all out for 179 – if you’d sold at that aforementioned spread-peak of 346-361, you could have won 167 times your initial stake. There were a couple of bright spots for the Aussies, however. Marnus Labuschagne, the replacement for the concussed Steve Smith, followed up his surprising showing in the 2nd Test with 74 runs at Headingley. Compare that to his original runs spread of 25-29, and that’s a potential 45 times your opening stake. Wolves nudge towards competition proper – UEFA Europa League QualifyingYet to lose a game this season, Wolves picked up their 5th Europa League win on the trot as they left Turin with a 3-2 win over Torino. Going ahead just before the break thanks to an own goal from Bremer, Diogo Jota then made it 2-0 at the hour mark. Lorenzo De Slivestri cut that lead in half minutes later, only for Raul Jimenez to give Wolves a 3rd away goal with a quarter of the game left to go. Frustratingly Torino managed to produce a last gasp lifeline for when they head to Molineux next week, with Andrea Belotti converting an 89th minute spot-kick. However gutting that may have been for Wolves, it did mean that anyone who bought a Penalty Goal Minutes spread of 9-12 could have won 77 times their original stake. There were more spread betting opportunities than that. A hostile 2nd half saw 7 yellow cards dished out; add onto that Belotti’s 1st half carding and the Bookings market made-up to 80 against an initial spread of 42-46. That’s 34 times your opening stake. The unexpectedly high-scoring fixture also meant that Goals x Shirts came in at 505, in no small part thanks to no. 29 De Silvestri. Against a low opening price of 102-115, you could have netted 390 times your initial bet. Linfield’s European dream continues – UEFA Europa League QualifyingNIFL Premiership champions Linfield have a real chance of reaching the Europa League proper thanks to a shock 3-2 win over Qarabag, one admittedly soured somewhat by the visitors’ injury time penalty (and 2nd away goal). Starting at a win match binary spread of 8.3-12.5, Linfield’s chances had fallen to just 0-2.5 following the Azerbaijani’s 15th minute opener. Anyone backing the Belfast boys at that price could have won 97.5 times their initial stake.
