Daily Spread Betting Round-up
How many English teams are through to the last 16 of the Champions League?
Liverpool became the first English team through to the knockout stages with a comfortable 2-0 victory over Atletico Madrid. The Reds are now unbeaten in 25 games, stretching back to last season’s Champions League quarter-final loss to Real Madrid, as goals from Diogo Jota and Sadio Mane kept up their 100% record in Group B. Just like the reverse fixture two weeks ago, Jurgen Klopp’s side dominated from the off, but this time they didn’t allow Atleti back into the game. Once again the Spanish champions were reduced to 10 men, Felipe dismissed for fouling Mane.
Multi-Bookings (settled at 1950)
In the image of their manager Diego Simeone, Atletico Madrid players are not known for backing away from a challenge, and having had a man sent off in the first match between these two a fortnight ago, another red card last night helped just about all of the bookings markets go over. The Multi-Bookings market multiplies first half total bookings points by second half, where 10 points are awarded for a yellow card and 25 for a red. Cross-Bookings also settled at 1950, with three Liverpool players receiving bookings and four for the Spanish side, plus Felipe’s straight red. Buyers of Cross-Bookings (475-555) made 1395 times their stake, while Multi-Bookings buyers (400-490) won 1460 times their bet.
Are Fulham going to get promoted back to the Premier League?
Spreadex-sponsored Fulham are arguably the form team in England at the moment with last night’s 7-0 win at Blackburn making it five Championship wins in a row with 20 goals scored and one against. Rovers could have moved into the play-off positions with a victory after back-to-back wins, but the Cottagers were a class above. The only surprise was that top scorer Aleksandar Mitrovic only got one of the goals, his 19th in 16 league games this season. Neeskens Kebano, Harry Wilson and Rodrigo Muniz all scored twice as Fulham moved within two points of Bournemouth at the top of the table.
Total Goal Minutes (settled at 387)
Fulham have been in great form since the last international break, but no-one was expected them to score seven away at Blackburn, themselves in pretty decent nick. We did see some buying of Total Goal Minutes, with the pre-match spread set at 143-153, buyers making 234 times their stake. Those who were sure it was only Fulham who would be adding to the Total Goals make-up could have bought Fulham TGM at 96 and won 291 times their bet.
Is Ronnie O’Sullivan playing in the English Open snooker?
Ronnie O’Sullivan is the epitome of a streaky player, and we all know when he’s hot there’s no-one in the world, maybe in history, who can handle him at his best. Michael Georgiou found that out the hard way in the English Open yesterday, and that was after winning the first frame. Ronnie, soon found his rhythm, reeling off four frames in a row and not allowing Georgiou to score another point in the match. In all, O’Sullivan scored 461 unanswered points
Ton or Bust (settled at 364)
Losing that first frame sparked Ronnie into action, with breaks of 82, 127, 129 and 108 more than enough to win the four frames needed to make the last 32. The Ton or Bust market aggregates all match breaks over 100. That means that Ronnie’s 82 counted for nothing in this market, but the 127, 129 and 108 added up to make-up of 364. The Ton or Bust spread for this best-of-seven match was 98-118, so buyers made 246 times their bet.
