Daily Spread Betting Round-up

Midweek Winning Bets

One of the biggest betting weekends of the year is upon us as the Masters reaches its conclusion and the title race in the Premier League gets set to become a lot clearer as Liverpool and Manchester City clash on Sunday.

There is also the small matter of a 40-runner handicap at Aintree on Saturday afternoon.

But before we get to all that, we will look back at the big spread makeups during the week as three English sides looked to lay down a marker in the Champions League Quarter Finals.

Please remember that unlike fixed odds betting, losses can exceed deposits when spread betting.

KARIM BENZEMA SUPER-MEGA MINUTES (SETTLED AT 207)

Karim Benzema may well have a slightly chequered history, but in the here and now he is banging in the goals for Real Madrid and the Frenchman put Chelsea to the sword on Wednesday evening.

Plenty of Chelsea’s preparation will have revolved around limiting the 34-year old’s opportunities in front of goal, but whatever was worked on at Cobham didn’t seem to have much of an impact.

Two first half headers in the space of three minutes gave the Spaniards a comfortable lead and although Kai Havertz pulled one back after 40 minutes, Benzema completed his hat trick early in the second half after an error from Edouard Mendy.

It was a good night then for Madrid’s number 9 but also a good night for those who bought Karim Benzema Super-Mega Minutes. With the second goal counting double and the third counting treble, the market settled at 207.

Before the match the spread was 27-32, leaving buyers collecting a win equal to 175x their stake.

EVERTON v BURNLEY TOTAL GOAL MINUTES x CORNERS (SETTLED AT 3195)

Burnley gave themselves a real shot at survival on Wednesday evening as they secured a thrilling comeback victory courtesy of an 86th minute winner from the mercurial Maxwell Cornet.

Nathan Collins had put Burnley in front early on but after 18 minutes, the Toffees were level through a Richarlison penalty. The Brazilian then repeated the trick five minutes before the break as he calmly tucked away another penalty given for an Aaron Lennon foul on Ukrainian full back Vitality Mykolenko.

From there, Frank Lampard’s side should have seen out the result, but they have been woeful away from home this season and that came to pass again in the second half as Burnley were able to get at them time and time again.

The two goals Burnley scored were very similar in fashion as Jay Rodriguez tucked away a low cross from Burnley’s left before Cornet did similar, to send Turf Moor crazy.

With so many goals and a total of 15 corners in the match it was a good night to but Total Goal Minutes x Corners which settled at 3195. Before kick-off the spread was at 1125-1250 leaving buyers walking away with a win equal to 1045x their stake.

AUSTRALIA MULTI-OVERS 1x2 (SETTLED AT 196)

Australia chased down Pakistan’s total of 162 with five deliveries to spare in the T20 at Lahore on Tuesday night and much of their success with the bat came early on in their innings as Aaron Finch and Travis Head got to work.

Cricket is a sport that naturally lends itself to spread betting, and this is also the case with the in-play markets. For the Multi-Overs market, it is simply a spread on the score of one over multiplied by the other (in this case Australia’s runs in the first over multiplied by the second).

With the two former Yorkshire batsmen helping Australia score 14 runs in both overs, the Multi-Overs market settled at a whopping 196. Before the first ball, the spread was 47-53 meaning buyers carted off with a win equal to 143x their stake.

Please note that these are examples of winning bets over the week and it is important to remember that spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit.
