Daily Spread Betting Round-up
As the weekend approaches, the 72 sides in the EFL are gearing up for the beginning of the season with many of our partner clubs amongst them. Ahead of the domestic season getting underway in England, we review our spread betting markets from the last few days where canny online betting punters made a profit.
Please remember Spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit. They may not be suitable for everyone so please ensure you fully understand the risks involved.
One of the most eagerly anticipated Olympic betting events was the men’s 1500m final where fierce rivals Jakob Ingebrigtsen and Josh Kerr went head-to-head for the title.
However, it didn’t go quite to plan with Ingebrigtsen going out hard before fading in the home straight. With Kerr on the Norwegian’s shoulder, Ingebrigtsen came away from the inside of the track to force the Briton wide and in doing so allowed American Cole Hocker to steal a march up the inside as the 23-year-old went on to win gold.
Buyers on the 50-25-10 spread who placed a buy bet on Hocker at 5-7 were rewarded with a win of 43x their stake whilst Ingebrigtsen sellers also made a pretty penny. With the Norwegian finishing outside the medals his pre-race spread of 34-37 settled at 0 with sellers winning the maximum 34x their stake.
Thanks to Wigan’s exploits in the World Club Challenge and the Challenge Cup, rugby league spread betting punters were treated to the unusual sight of Tuesday night Super League action.
Under the stewardship of Derek Beaumont the ‘Battle Of The Borough’ has taken on more meaning for Leigh and Wigan in recent years, but it was the Warriors who ran away with it at the DW Stadium.
Tries from Junior Nsemba, Patrick Mago, Adam Keighran, and Jake Wardle put Wigan 22-0 up at the break with Lachlan Lam the only Leigh tryscorer as the Centurions eventually went down 28-6. A lopsided contest was good news for those who had sold on Match Cross-Points (Wigan points multiplied by Leigh points) at 334-370.
With the spread settling at 168, sellers won 166x their stake.
Pre-season often has the habit of throwing up unusual contests, but how about a last-minute friendly between Barnsley and AS Roma at St George’s Park? You would have done well to forecast that one.
That was the scene on Tuesday afternoon as Daniele De Rossi’s charges headed to Staffordshire to face a Barnsley side largely consisting of their fringe first teamers and U21 players. With the Italians naming a strong side, it didn’t take them long to provide a decent spread bet winner on one of our more popular football spread betting markets.
The 1st Match Goal spread was 24-27 before kick-off, but Enzo Le Fee got Roma off to a flyer with a 2nd minute goal as sellers won 22x their stake.
Please note that these are examples of winning bets from the past week, and it is important to remember that spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit.
