Daily Spread Betting Round-up

Monday and Tuesday's Big Winning Bets

International football has dominated the early part of the week, with Scotland and Wales both building on their impressive starts to the qualifying campaign.

There were shocks elsewhere with 1/7 shots Kosovo held to a draw by Andorra, Greece (2/15) failing to beat Lithuania in a friendly and the Czech Republic (1/6) failing to overcome Moldova. If you were mad enough to pick it, a £10 draw treble in those three upsets would have returned £3927.50!

Anyway, we aren’t here to talk about fixed odds betting and we have reviewed three big winning spread bets from the last few days of football action for you to enjoy.

Please remember that unlike fixed odds betting, when spread betting losses can exceed deposits.

SCOTLAND v SPAIN – SPAIN/SCOTLAND TOTAL GOAL MINUTE SUPREMACY (SETTLED AT -58)

Fresh from a brace over Cyprus, Scott McTominay was at it again last night as his double inspired Scotland to a famous win over Spain at Hampden. Not since the 1980s when world class stars like Kenny Dalglish were lining up for the Tartan Army have they beaten  the Iberian side and this will have been a sweet victory for Steve Clarke who has seen his outfit make a perfect start to qualification.

It was a night to savour for sellers on the Total Goal Minutes Supremacy spread which was 30-44 in Spain’s favour before kick-off in Glasgow. However, with the visitors failing to find the back of the net, and Scotland’s goal minutes adding up to 58, this market settled at -58 with sellers winning 88x their stake.

NETHERLANDS v GIBRALTAR – GOALS CUBED (SETTLED AT 27)

European minnows Gibraltar headed to Feyenoord expecting to be on the end of a beating from their esteemed opponents, but whilst the Dutch blew and blew, the Gibraltarian’s house didn’t completely fall down.

The hosts had 86% possession and 50 shots against an opponent who were reduced to ten men early in the second half, yet they could only find the back of the net on three occasions, with defender Nathan Ake chipping in with a brace. Memphis Depay was the only Dutch attacker to get on the scoresheet in a match where the Goals Cubed spread was 324-416 before kick-off.

With the Netherlands only winning 3-0, Goals Cubed settled at 27 as sellers won a whopping 297x their stake.

HUNGARY v BULGARIA – BOOKINGS (SETTLED AT 0)

Former Notts County and Portsmouth man Liam Walker was the only player to see red in the latest round of international matches when he was sent off for Gibraltar and the calmest match of the round came at the Puskas Arena where Hungary beat Bulgaria.

The hosts took a 3-0 lead into the break in Budapest thanks to goals from Balint Vecsei, Dominik Szoboszlai, and Martin Adam and they held onto it to make a perfect start to qualification. Monday’s match saw 25 fouls committed, yet there wasn’t a single booking shown in a quiet night for Turkish referee Halil Umut Meler.

The Bookings spread was 44-48 before kick-off with sellers landing a win of 44x their stake. Those selling more volatile spreads like Multi-Bookings, Cross-Bookings, Goals x Corners x Bookings, and Shirts x Bookings would have won 420x, 505x, 930x, and 1250x their stake respectively.

Please note that these are examples of winning bets from the past week, and it is important to remember that spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit.
