Daily Spread Betting Round-up
Although there has been less sporting action to choose from in recent days as the international football break begins, there have still been several opportunities for punters to win significant profit in Monday and Tuesday’s sport with the likes of the US Open tennis, T20 cricket and MLS football.
As always, we highlight three big winning spread bets.
Please remember Spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit. They may not be suitable for everyone so please ensure you fully understand the risks involved.
LAFC V INTER MIAMI – TOTAL GOAL MINUTES (SETTLED AT 238)
With a relative lack of notable football in the early part of this week, Monday saw Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami side once again in action as they took on LAFC – spearheaded by the league’s self-proclaimed best player Carlos Vela.
Messi’s arrival in the USA has heralded a dramatic upturn in form and fortunes for his side and they once again produced an impressive display to secure a 3-1 away victory. While the Argentine magician did not get on the scoresheet this time around, he did notch an assist for former Barcelona teammate Jordi Alba.
As for the big spread betting profitable markets, the Total Goal Minutes market make-up, which was 238 from a starting spread of 152 – 162, meant a tidy 76x profit on buyers’ opening stakes.
FRANCES TIAFOE V BEN SHELTON – MATCH SUPREMACY TIA/SHE (SETTLED AT -20)
An All-American battle took place at Flushing Meadows in the night session in New York on Tuesday as last year’s US Open semi-finalist Frances Tiafoe took on the fast-rising, missile-serving Ben Shelton for the right to take on Novak Djokovic in the last four.
Shelton announced himself to the world back in January as he reached the quarter-finals of the Australian Open, but the youngster managed to go one step further with a hugely impressive four-set victory over his more experienced countryman here. Shelton has served at up to 149mph on multiple occasions during this tournament and it will be intriguing to see how his powerful game will stack up against the defensive prowess of Djokovic.
For spread bettors here, selling was the profitable choice when it came to the Match Supremacy market, which began in favour of Tiafoe. With a starting spread of 7 – 10 but a make-up of -20, sellers were rewarded with a return of x27 their opening wager – ace!
ENGLAND V NEW ZEALAND 4TH T20 – NZ TO WIN MATCH (SETTLED AT 100)
Finally, we end with the cricket action from the 4th T20 at Trent Bridge as the visiting New Zealand showed their strength with the bat to secure a six-wicket victory over England and in the process draw the series level 2-2.
The Kiwis combined eight fours and five sixes with Tim Seifert (48) and Glenn Phillips (42) the pick of the batters. Mark Chapman then scored 40 alongside Rachin Ravindra (17) to secure a comprehensive victory with just under three overs to spare.
For punters with foresight, backing New Zealand to grab the win at a starting spread of 33.3 – 38.5 and a make-up of 100 meant a 61.5x return on their opening stake.
Please note that these are examples of winning bets from the past week, and it is important to remember that spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit.
