CARLOS ALCARAZ V STEFANOS TSITSIPAS – ALC/TSI POINTS SUPREMACY (SETTLED AT 34)

World number one Carlos Alcaraz came into the French Open as the outright favourite, but even by his own lofty standards he has exceeded expectations with his levels of performance – and his match against Stefanos Tsitsipas on Tuesday evening was proclaimed by Alcaraz himself as one of the best matches of his career.

Although many expected an Alcaraz win due to his superiority over the Greek in previous head-to-head meetings, this was seen as the best opportunity for the 2020 Roland Garros beaten finalist to claim a statement victory over the Spanish sensation.

As it turned out, Alcaraz produced a supreme beating of Tsitsipas, with a demoralising straight sets victory 6-1 6-2 7-6 (and the third set may have also finished 6-2 but for a late Alcaraz wobble/Tsitsipas surge). Alcaraz now moves on to a blockbuster semi-final against Novak Djokovic, while buyers on the Alcaraz/Tsitsipas Points Supremacy market would have been celebrating the make-up of 34 from a starting spread of 11 – 16, meaning an 18x return on their opening wager.

HAMBURGER SV V STUTTGART – GOALS X CORNERS X BOOKINGS (SETTLED AT 3520)

In a high-stakes relegation play-off battle in the Bundesliga, Stuttgart secured a two-leg 6-1 demolition of Hamburg to confirm their Bundesliga status. Much of the job was done in the first leg where they built up a 3-0 advantage, so Hamburg had their work cut out to mount any sort of meaningful comeback.

While the home side did initially raise hopes of a miracle turnaround with a goal in the opening ten minutes, this was quashed early in the second half as Enzo Millot equalised in the 48th minute and added a second fifteen minutes later. With the game essentially over as a contest at that point, it became a very tetchy affair with the bookings beginning to fly.

With Stuttgart scoring a third goal in the 97th minute to add insult to injury, the final tallies were four goals, eight corners and ELEVEN yellow cards! With Hamburg dejectedly awaiting a season in the German second tier, punters who bought on the Goals x Corners x Bookings spread would have been beaming as a final make-up of 3,520 meant a massive 2,070x return on their initial stake!

DENVER NUGGETS V MIAMI HEAT – Q4 DENVER/MIAMI (SETTLED AT -11)

And finally, in the NBA finals action, Miami Heat levelled the series at 1-1 with the Denver Nuggets as they produced an impressive fourth-quarter surge to grab a three-point victory away from home. The Heat started well with by grabbing a 26-23 lead after Q1, but lost Q2 34-25 and Q3 26-24 before producing a phenomenal last quarter of 36-25.

Gabe Vincent scored 23 points while Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo each had 21 as the Heat managed to overcome the monster effort from Nikola Jokic, who scored 41 points and was 16 of 28 from the floor, the last of those shots a four-footer with 36 seconds left to get the Nuggets within three. The final outcome could have been very different too, but Denver elected not to foul on the ensuing Miami possession after Jokic’s last score. Butler missed a three, and with a chance to tie, Jamal Murray missed a three-pointer at the buzzer.

For savvy sellers on the spread betting markets, selling at 0 – 1.5 Denver/Miami Q4 Supremacy saw them win a 11x return on their stake – a Slam Dunk!

Please note that these are examples of winning bets from the past week, and it is important to remember that spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit.
