Daily Spread Betting Round-up

Monday & Tuesday's Big Winning Bets

Monday and Tuesday saw football take centre stage, with Liverpool coming out victorious in the Merseyside derby and Spurs falling to a first leg defeat in Italy against Milan. Burnley, meanwhile, fell just short in their hopes of becoming the first Championship side ever to grab 11 consecutive victories as they drew 1-1 with Watford.

Elsewhere, the NBA action saw a clean sweep for the favourites while in the cricket the Windies defeated Zimbabwe and the tennis action from ATP Rotterdam began in earnest.

As always, we have picked out three big winning spread bets from the last two days.

Please remember that unlike fixed odds betting, when spread betting losses can exceed deposits.

LIVERPOOL V EVERTON – MULTI-BOOKINGS (SETTLED AT 0)

Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool have been having a dismal season by their recent lofty standards, and this Merseyside derby seemed to be one of the more significant ones of recent times with Everton also languishing near the relegation zone but boosted by the new manager bounce which led them to a win over league leaders Arsenal in Sean Dyche’s opening game in charge.

However, it was the Reds who proved their class at Anfield here with goals from Mohamed Salah and Cody Gakpo in each half leading them to a fairly comfortable 2-0 victory. Everton only managed one shot on target in the entire match, and Dyche will surely have been disappointed following the euphoria of the victory over the Gunners.

But where was the profit for punters? These derbies are well known to be strongly contested and are full of crunching tackles flying in, which often lead to many bookings being shown. In this instance, it was all about selling on the Multi-Bookings market. Although the second half saw four yellow cards shown, the first was a quieter period and saw no bookings. This meant a make-up of 0, meaning those that sold on the opening spread of 420 – 510 would have been left with 420x their opening wager!

GOLDEN STATE @ LA CLIPPERS – TOTAL POINTS (SETTLED AT 258)

In a match-up involving several of the NBA’s biggest stars, it was the LA Clippers that came out victorious over the Golden State Warriors in an entertaining and high-scoring 134-124 success.

Jordan Poole scored 28 points, Klay Thompson added 18 and Kevon Looney posted a double-double, but Golden State couldn’t contain Kawhi Leonard, who had a game-high 33 points and converted on seven of his nine 3-point attempts.

The Warriors had managed to climb out of a 10-point deficit and managed to outscore the Clippers 42-30 in the second quarter. Golden State pulled ahead by four points at the break, but the Clippers came back strongly in an explosive 44-point third quarter and carried a 105-93 into the fourth. However, the Clippers kept the Warriors at bay from there.

With offense being the best form of defence for these sides, punters who decided to buy on the Total Points spread of 225 – 229 would have been celebrating a 29x return on their stake!

ZIMBABWE v WEST INDIES – ZIMBABWE RUNS (SETTLED AT 115)

And finally, in the cricket action, Windies spinner Gudakesh Motie set a new benchmark for West Indies cricket with the best return from a test spinner as he bowled his side to victory, and series success over Zimbabwe, by an innings and four runs in the second test on Tuesday.

It was the best ever test match performance by a spinner for the West Indies as Motie took 13-99 in the match, surpassing a mark that had stood for seven decades. The left-arm spinner returned figures of 7-37 as Zimbabwe, who won the toss and elected to bat, were skittled out for 115 in their first innings.

For punters foreseeing a difficult match for Zimbabwe’s batters and selling at a pre-match spread of 230 – 245, they would have been celebrating a 115x return on their opening stake!

Please note that these are examples of winning bets from the past week, and it is important to remember that spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit.
