Daily Spread Betting Round-up
Monday and Tuesday saw a range of sporting action with the first round of the Australian Open getting underway, the Australian Big Bash League nearing its conclusion and round 3 FA Cup replays taking place.
As always, we have picked out three big winning spread bets from the action.
Please remember that unlike fixed odds betting, when spread betting losses can exceed deposits.
BERRETTINI V MURRAY – TOTAL POINTS (SETTLED AT 326)
In the early hours of Tuesday morning former world number one Andy Murray faced Matteo Berrettini in the first round of the Australian Open.
The Scot started the strongest winning both opening sets 6-3 before a much tighter third set as Berrettini took the set 6-4. The following set was even tighter as the Italian edged it 6-7 (7-9) taking the match to a deciding set.
The final set followed the trend of the match being tightly contested before Murray stunned the Australian Open crowd taking the final set 7-6 (10-6) to knock out 13th-seeded Berrettini.
With the match being so tightly contested there was a massive 326 points won in the match. With a pre-match spread of 182-189 offered, punters who decided to buy won 137x their stake!
SYDNEY SIXERS V ADELAIDE STRIKERS – SYDNEY SIXES SQUARED (SETTLED AT 100)
Next, we make the short trip to the Coffs International Stadium as first-placed Sydney Sixers took on fourth-placed Adelaide Strikers with the Sixers looking to extend their lead at the top of the table while the Strikers were looking for a vital win in their quest to secure a playoff spot.
Sydney Sixers opted to bat and got off to a rocky start as youngster Josh Philipe was bowled for just one run. However, as great captains do Steve Smith lead by example as he scored 101 runs off just 56 balls to help guide the Sixers to a strong total of 203 off their 20 overs.
With the pressure of chasing a high total, the Strikers struggled to get going as only Alex Carey and Matt Short got into double figures as they were bowled out for just 144 runs as the Sixers secured their spot in this year’s playoffs.
With the sixers scoring 10 sixes in the game, the Sydney Sixes Squared market made up at 100. With a pre-match spread of 48-56 offered, punters who decided to buy won 44x their stake!
WOLVES V LIVERPOOL – CORNERS SQUARED (SETTLED AT 36)
Finally, we head to Molineux as Wolves hosted Liverpool in a FA Cup 3rd round replay after Wolves were controversially denied of a late winner in the reverse fixture at Anfield.
The away side started the quickest and went ahead in just the 13th minute as Harvey Elliott caught Jose Sa off-guard from 25 yards to fire the Reds into an early lead.
The remainder of the game saw a lack of goalmouth action with Wolves unable to break down the resolute Liverpool defence as last year's winners progressed and set up a tie away at Brighton.
But where was the value for the punters?
With the tie only seeing a total of six corners the Corners squared market made up at just 36. With a pre-match spread of 123-135 offered, punters who decided to sell won 87x their stake!
Please note that these are examples of winning bets from the past week, and it is important to remember that spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit.
