Daily Spread Betting Round-up
There has been a plethora of International and domestic sport to start off the week with The T20 World Cup, Champions League and Championship providing plenty of thrills and spills.
We have taken a look at three big winning spread bets from Monday and Tuesday’s action!
Please remember that unlike fixed odds betting, when spread betting losses can exceed deposits.
AUSTRALIA V IRELAND – LAUNCH (SETTLED AT 1846)
Kicking off the action on Monday morning Australia faced Ireland with both sides knowing a win was crucial in keeping their semi-final hopes alive.
After losing the toss, Australia were put into bat first and posted a challenging score of 179-5 with captain Aaron Finch taking the fight to the Irish bowlers scoring 63 off 44 balls before big hitter Marcus Stoinis rounded off the innings with a fast-paced 35 runs.
Ireland then entered the crease and started the innings with a mini-collapse which saw them lose their opening five wickets for just 25 runs. A spirited match-high innings of 71 runs from just 48 balls from Lorcan Tucker led the fightback for the Irish however it was not enough as they were bowled out for just 137 runs propelling the Aussies above England in the table.
But where was the value for the punters?
With the highest score being 71 from Irish batter Tucker and the most expensive over going for a whopping 26 runs the Launch market made up at 1846! With a pre-match spread of 1250-1350 offered, punters who decided to buy won 496x their stake.
BAYER LEVERKUSEN V CLUB BRUGGE – GOALS X CORNERS X BOOKINGS (SETTLED AT 0)
On Tuesday Bayer Leverkusen and Club Brugge kicked off the footballing action in the early kick-off with both sides playing for different outcomes with the hosts looking to secure a Europa League spot while surprise package Club Brugge were looking to top the group.
Before their 4-0 loss to Porto last week, Club Brugge hadn't conceded a single goal in the competition with ex-Liverpool keeper Simon Mignolet proving doubters wrong with some fine displays. The Belgian continued to impress in this fixture making some key saves showing why many pundits currently have him in their team of the tournament so far.
The game was a game of few chances, but the visitors came the closest to taking the lead when Canadian international Tajon Buchanan hit the upright but ultimately the game ended 0-0 which wasn’t enough to secure Club Brugge top spot but allowed Bayer Leverkusen to edge Atletico Madrid to pinch the Europa League spot.
As there were no goals in the tie the Goals x Corners x Bookings market made up at 0 (0 x 10 x 50 = 500). With a pre-match spread of 1550-1725 offered, punters who decided to sell won a massive 1550x their stake!
BRISTOL CITY V SHEFFIELD UNITED
The final action of the night came from Ashton Gate as Bristol City hosted with the hosts looking for a win to pull them away from trouble whereas the visitors were looking for all three points to stay in touch with league leaders Burnley.
The first half saw little to no action with only two shots on goal, but the real action was to follow in the second as Iliman Ndiaye opened the scoring in the 49th minute with a smart finish past Max O’Leary gave the Blades the lead.
The rest of the half saw a flurry of yellow cards with five being brandished in just 35 minutes before a horror challenge from young Bristol City centre-half George Tanner ensured the game ended in ugly scenes as a mass brawl ensued leaving the referee with no choice but to brandish a red card and another two yellows.
With three yellows and a red being shown to the home side and five yellows being shown to the Blades the Cross-Bookings market made up at a massive 2750. With a pre-match spread of 290-350 offered, punters who decided to buy won a ginormous 2400x their stake!
Please note that these are examples of winning bets from the past week, and it is important to remember that spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit.
