Daily Spread Betting Round-up
England and Northern Ireland got their Euro 2024 qualifying campaign off to perfect starts last night whilst on Wednesday, Ireland beat Latvia 3-2 in a friendly match in Dublin. There are plenty of internationals coming up over the next few days, with England next in action at home against Ukraine on Sunday.
Away from the football, there has been international cricket, whilst the WGC Matchplay has been wowing golf fans in what will be the final edition of the much-loved tournament.
With plenty of action taking place, we have found three big winning spread bets from the last few days’ action.
Please remember that unlike fixed odds betting, when spread betting losses can exceed deposits.
ITALY v ENGLAND – CROSS-BOOKINGS (SETTLED AT 1950)
By virtue of their poor Nations League campaign, England slipped down the seedings for the Euro 2024 Qualifiers which is why they started their campaign with a trickier test than usual; Italy in Naples.
If Gareth Southgate’s side made light work of the first half, they toiled their way through a fractious second half which saw the referee flash plenty of cards to both sides. The busiest period for the Serbian referee was when he handed Luke Shaw two yellow cards in the space of a few minutes, with the first coming for time wasting before the Manchester United full-back made a late challenge on debutant Mateo Retegui.
With the Italians being shown 30 booking points, and England shown 65, Cross-Bookings made up at 1950 against a pre-match spread of 355-415. Buyers were left living la dolce vita though as they pocketed a win of 1535x their stake.
BANGLADESH v IRELAND – IRELAND RUNS (SETTLED AT 101)
Having beaten Ireland by 183 runs in the opening match of this ODI series, Bangladesh were looking to complete the job in style when they faced the Celtic nation in Sylhet. The Tourists came into bat first and they were often heading back to the pavilion in quick fashion with only two players reaching double figures.
Hasan Mahmud took five wickets as Ireland fell to 101 all-out inside the 29th over to record the lowest ever ODI score against Bangladesh. Our trading team had the Ireland runs spread at 235-245 before the first delivery of the match, but shrewd sellers made a pretty penny as they won 134x their stake.
WGC MATCHPLAY – SAHITH THEEGALA/JJ SPAUN 10-3 (SETTLED AT -25)
Today sees the final day of the group matches at the WGC Matchplay but we have already seen plenty of scintillating golf as the stellar field look to win the final edition of this tournament.
Yesterday saw Sahith Theegala take on JJ Spaun in an all-American clash in group 11. Spaun, who is the 61st seed this week, raced into the lead after the very first hole and he never looked back, with a birdie at the tenth putting him six holes up.
Theegala did manage to cut that deficit by one, but it was still a great day for sellers on the Theegala/Spaun 10-3 market. This spread awards 10 points to the winner and three points for every hole won by. With the market at 1-3 in Theegala’s favour, a five-hole victory for Spaun saw the market settle at -25 as sellers won 26x their stake.
Please note that these are examples of winning bets from the past week, and it is important to remember that spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit.
