WHAT HAPPENED NEXT?

It was a mixed bag for Scottish sides in Europe with Aberdeen probably the happiest of the quartet having drawn 2-2 on the road against BK Hacken. Rangers’ thriller with PSV leaves them needing heroics in the Netherlands once more. Hearts are behind the 8-ball after losing 2-1 at home to PAOK whilst cross-city rivals Hibernian were walloped 5-0 by Aston Villa. Away from the football, there has also been rugby league and cricket for our punters to enjoy.

HIBERNIAN v ASTON VILLA – CROSS-BOOKINGS (SETTLED AT 100)

Whenever English and Scottish sides meet in European competition the clash is dubbed as a ‘Battle of Britain’ yet this was no battle on Wednesday as Aston Villa routed Hibs at Easter Road.

A hat-trick from Ollie Watkins helped Unai Emery’s side take a near unassailable 5-0 lead back to the Midlands and has afforded the Spaniard the chance to heavily rotate in next week’s return leg. The hosts were completely outclassed and barely laid a glove on their Premier League opponents and that was borne out in the booking stats.

Villa’s Lucas Digne and Martin Boyle for Hibs were the only two players to get booked so with both sides amassing ten booking points each, Cross-Bookings settled at 100. Before kick-off in the Scottish capital, the spread was 565-665 as sellers won 465x their stake.

PENRITH PANTHERS v PARRAMATTA EELS – PEN/PAR (SETTLED AT -14)

A huge clash in the western suburbs of Sydney and a rematch of last year’s NRL Grand Final took place on Thursday and it produced a shock result.

In front of a sell out crowd at BlueBet Stadium, Parra, with their season all but over, turned up and well and truly upset the apple cart in a ferocious derby clash. Fijian flyer Maika Sivo scored four tries for the Eels who romped home to a 32-18 victory to give their fans something to cheer after what has been a disappointing season following last year’s success.

Before the match, Penrith were 18-21 favourites on the Supremacy spread, but with the visitors claiming a win by 14 points the spread settled at -14 as sellers won 32x their stake.

AFGHANISTAN v PAKISTAN – RAHMANULLAH GURBAZ RUNS (SETTLED AT 151)

After a chastening 141-run defeat earlier in the week, Afghanistan were out for revenge against neighbours Pakistan and they very nearly pulled off a surprise victory. The tourists eventually got themselves over the line with one delivery to spare to win by one wicket, but the story of the match belonged to Rahmanullah Gurbaz.

Having made a score of 18 when Afghanistan crumbled to 59-all out on Tuesday in Hambantota the spread on Gurbaz runs was 26-30 before play began yesterday, but a sublime innings gave buyers a nice win. The opener scored 151 runs from 151 deliveries before being bowled out by Shaheen Afridi as buyers landed a win of 121x their stake.

Please note that these are examples of winning bets from the past week, and it is important to remember that spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit.
