Daily Spread Betting Round-up
The wall-to-wall football has continued this week with a full round of midweek Premier League fixtures ahead of the FA Cup third round weekend.
It can pay off big if you manage to find any ‘magic of the cup’ and on a weekend that also features the Tolworth Hurdle and the Slaney Novice Hurdle, we have hopefully got some punting pointers for you with the big winning spreads from the last few days.
Please remember that unlike fixed odds betting, when spread betting losses can exceed deposits.
NEWCASTLE 4th JANUARY – STARTING PRICES (SETTLED AT 220.6)
Despite only being the fourth day of the month, it was the second meeting on the all-weather at Newcastle on Wednesday and it turned out to be an unusual day for punters and bookies alike. Normally these kind of meets will pass you by, but there were back-to-back winners at three-figure odds.
The Spreadex Sports 300 Spread Betting Cashback Handicap went the way of 100/1 outsider Endofastorm with Notimeforanother landing the Spreadex Sports Best Odds On Sunderland Novice Stakes, also at 100/1.
Both of those winners helped blow the Starting Prices spread of 54-57 out of the water with buyers eventually seeing the spread make up at 220.6 as they won 163.6x their initial stake.
CF INTERCITY SANT JOAN D’ALACANT v BARCELONA – INT/BAR TOTAL GOAL MINUTE SUPREMACY (SETTLED AT -71)
Before this week the chances that your average football fan on the British street would have heard of the catchily named CF Intercity Sant Joan D’Alacant would be slim to none. Let’s face it, they are still pretty slim, but the third division side from Alicante nearly shocked Barcelona in the Copa del Rey on Wednesday when they ultimately lost in extra time to their famous visitors.
For those taking on Barcelona in our spread markets, it was a profitable evening, with the Total Goal Supremacy (set at 138-152 before kick-off) one of the bigger winners on the night. Barcelona had been pegged back to 2-2 before Raphinha struck in the 77th minute, but former Barcelona and Birmingham City youngster Oriol Soldevila grabbed his hat-trick in the 86th minute to force extra time.
Barcelona’s Total Goal Minutes made up at 148, whilst Intercity’s made up at 219 which meant the Supremacy market settled at -71. Against the pre-match spread in Alicante, this meant sellers landed a tidy sum of 209x their stake.
INDIA v SRI LANKA – MULTI-SIXES (SETTLED AT 168)
Yesterday saw the second T20 between India and Sri Lanka and after a thriller in the first clash which saw India win by two runs, Sri Lanka were out for revenge. The tourists batted first in Pune and they hit 206 runs in their 20 overs, with 14 deliveries flying over the rope for a six.
In reply, India could only manage 198, with their top order struggling to get going having fallen for 57-5 in the tenth over. They did manage to hit 12 sixes, however, with six of them coming in a cracking knock from Axar Patel as Multi-Sixes settled at 168.
Before the first ball, this market was 47-55, with buyers walking away with a win of 113x their stake.
Please note that these are examples of winning bets from the past week, and it is important to remember that spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit.
