Daily Spread Betting Round-up
On Wednesday and Thursday, there was a range of sporting action with UAE taking on Argentina in a friendly, Australia hosting England in the first of a three-game ODI series and Harlequins taking on Barbarians.
As always we have taken a look at three big winning bets from Wednesday and Thursday’s action.
Please remember that unlike fixed odds betting, when spread betting losses can exceed deposits.
UAE V ARGENTINA – SHIRTS X CORNERS (SETTLED AT 513)
On Wednesday afternoon, many people's tip to win the World Cup faced the UAE in a friendly as the Argentines look to get match sharpness ahead of their opening group match with Saudi Arabia.
The Argentines showed why many have tipped them to go all the way in Qatar as they sailed into a 4-0 lead before half-time with goals coming from Man City forward Julian Alvarez, Lionel Messi and two from Angel Di Maria.
The second half saw a lull in the action as 12 substitutes were made throughout the 45 minutes however, Argentina were still able to add to the goal tally as Inter Milan forward Joaquin Correa added a fifth in the 60th minute to round off a dominant display.
But where was the value for the punters?
With the shirt numbers of the goalscorers tallying up to 57 and there being nine corners in the game, the Shirts x Corners market made up at 513 (57 x 9 = 513). With punters offered a pre-match spread of 158-178, punters who decided to buy won 335x their stake!
AUSTRALIA V ENGLAND – MULTI-FOURS (SETTLED AT 805)
England faced Australia in the early hours of Thursday morning in the first of a three-game ODI series as the English looked to carry on their momentum from their T20 World Cup winning campaign.
England got off to a stuttering start with their opening three batsmen losing their wicket for a combined 25 runs before Dawid Malan steadied the ship scoring 134 from just 128 deliveries. However, this wasn’t enough to guide England to an above-par score as England ended the innings on 287.
Australia’s start to their innings was the polar opposite of England’s as Travis Head and David Warner put the Aussies into a dominant position with their 147-run opening partnership which brought the ever-reliable Steve Smith to the crease whose innings of 80 not out guided Australia home with just over three overs remaining.
Although the game wasn’t a massively high-scoring game the long boundaries of the Adelaide Oval meant many shots which would have normally gone for six resulted in a four. With England scoring 23 fours and Australia scoring 35 fours the Multi-Fours market made up at 805! With a pre-match spread of 500-560 offered, punters who decided to buy won
HARLEQUINS V BARBARIANS – MATCH MULTI-POINTS (SETTLED AT 2440)
Finally, Harlequins faced Barbarians in a friendly on Thursday evening at The Stoop in the first-ever meeting between the two sides.
It was certainly an entertaining affair as six tries were scored in the first half giving the visitors a 21-19 lead over the Quins.
However, the scoring had only just started as the hosts blew away Barbarians in the second half going over for a massive eight tries as they took the second half 54-7, resulting in the match ending in a 73-28 massacre.
With there being 40 points scored in the first half and another 61 scored in the second the Match Multi-Points market made up at a massive 2440! With a pre-match spread of 1105-1203 offered, punters who decided to buy won 1237x their stake!
Please note that these are examples of winning bets from the past week, and it is important to remember that spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit.
