Weekend's Big Winning Bets 03.02.25

The Dublin Racing Festival is always one of the highlights of the sporting calendar and there was a flurry of online betting activity as State Man, Kopek Des Bordes, Ballyburn, and Galopin Des Champs all landed Grade 1 glory. Attention now turns to Cheltenham.

Elsewhere there were some surprises in the weekend’s football, and it was a sobering few days for English cricket with the women whitewashed in Australia and the men mauled in Mumbai. We have run through the main sporting events to bring you three big winning spread bets where canny traders collected plenty of profit.

Please remember Spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit. They may not be suitable for everyone so please ensure you fully understand the risks involved.

INDIA v ENGLAND 5TH T20 – IND/ENG SUPREMACY (SETTLED AT 150)

It was supposed to be the start of a brave new era, but England’s first T20I series under the guidance of Brendan McCullum saw them plumb new depths yesterday.

Abhishek Sharma starred with the bat as he made a stunning knock of 135 runs from 54 deliveries with India reaching a total of 247-9. In reply, England offered little to no resistance, with Phil Salt’s score of 55 the only flicker in an abject innings which saw the tourists slump to 97 all-out.

A 150-run defeat is England’s heaviest in T20I history, but while it may have been dismal to watch, at least those who bought India on the Supremacy spread t 3-11 will have had something to celebrate. This spread sees one point given per run won by (or ten points per wicket won by) and with India winning by 150 runs, buyers won 139x their stake.

NOTTINGHAM FOREST v BRIGHTON AND HOVE ALBION – NOT/BHA SUPREMACY (SETTLED AT 7)

Another Supremacy spread, but this time from the weekend’s football where Nottingham Forest recorded a remarkable 7-0 win over Brighton.

Before kick-off, the pair couldn’t be separated, with the Supremacy set up at -0.1 – 0.1 as Forest looked to recover from a 5-0 defeat at the hands of Bournemouth. A superb performance saw Forest lead 3-0 at the break before Chris Wood bagged a quickfire double to seal his hat-trick.

At 5-0, the game looked to be petering out, but late goals from Neco Williams and Jota Silva made it 7-0 and secured Forest’s biggest-ever Premier League win. For those buyers at 0.1, this meant a win of 6.9x their stake – a huge win in a low volatility market.

IRISH CHAMPION HURDLE – LOSSIEMOUTH 50-25-10 (SETTLED AT 0)

One of the big match-ups of the racing weekend ended in a bit of a damp squib as Lossiemouth fell four flights from home, to leave stablemate State Man way out in front.

Lossiemouth had been sent off a narrow favourite over State Man, and the pair dominated the race until the unfortunate fall which saw Danny Mullins’ mount walk away unharmed. Before the race, the Lossiemouth 50-25-10 Race Index spread was 35-38, but given the mare failed to complete the race, the spread settled at zero as sellers collected a maximum win of 35x their stake.

Please note that these are examples of winning bets from the past week, and it is important to remember that spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit.
