Daily Spread Betting Round-up
After another weekend of top-class sports, as always in our daily betting blog we run through the big spread betting winners from the weekend!
Some of the key action came from weekend football including the Premier League where Man City grabbed another win over city rivals United, Dimitri van den Bergh produced a shock against Luke Humphries in the UK Open darts and Australia secured a dominant win over New Zealand in the Test cricket.
Here we run through some of those big winning spread bets.
Please remember Spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit. They may not be suitable for everyone so please ensure you fully understand the risks involved.
We start with the football betting action and the Premier League fixtures over the weekend which saw another Manchester derby where City came out on top in dominant fashion, despite United taking an early lead.
A wonder goal from Marcus Rashford wasn't enough for the Red Devils as City utterly dominated the game from then on, eventually breaking the visitors' resistance and adding two late goals to secure a comprehensive victory. To put things into perspective, City's 27 shots in the match was the same number as United's possession %.
For football spread bettors, there were a few potential spread betting avenues for good profit, and placing a sell bet on the Multi-Bookings market was one of those. With the starting spread at 595 - 695, just one booking in the match (for United's Raphael Varane) meant a make-up of 0 which resulted in a big winning sell bet of 595x their stake!

Next we move to the darts action and there was a big shock as the reigning world champion Luke Humphries fell to an 11-10 defeat in the UK Open to Belgium's Dimitri van den Bergh. It almost ended in heartbreak for the Belgian though, as he had squandered leads of 7-2 and 10-8 before finally getting over the line.
Humphries was ultimately stopped in his quest for four consecutive ranking titles too, as he was looking to add the trophy to the Grand Slam of Darts and Players Championship crowns that he lifted in late 2023 and the Alexandra Palace title he scooped in January of this year - and had two match darts here.
The Belgian's power scoring was mightily impressive, and he ended with seven maximums, one more than Humphries. Spread betting punters who placed a buy bet on the Van den Bergh Most 180s at an opening spread at 21 - 27.8 saw a make-up of 100 and a return of 72.2x their stake.

And finally, we finish with the Test cricket action as Australia secured a dominant victory over New Zealand in Auckland. The Aussies' Nathan Lyon was pivotal to the win as he claimed a fifth 10-wicket match haul in Tests.
New Zealand had ultimately folded from their overnight 111-3 to 196 all out in a chase of 369, losing their final seven wickets for 70 runs before lunch on day four as off-spinner Lyon recorded innings figures of 6-65 and a match aggregate of 10-108.
Although Australia's second innings were not particularly impressive, the damage had been done in the first innings as they cruised to the dominant win.
In terms of spread betting, punters who decided to place a sell bet on the Australia Second Innings Runs market saw a big profit made. With the starting spread at 260 - 275, a final make-up of 164 meant a return of 96x their opening stake!
