Daily Spread Betting Round-up
Celtic completed a domestic treble this weekend with a Scottish FA Cup final win over Inverness whilst Manchester City took another step closer to a treble of their own with a win over Manchester United at Wembley.
In the other Derby of the day, Auguste Rodin came home in front at Epsom to land another success for Aidan O’Brien. Other sporting highlights from the weekend include England beating Ireland in their Ashes warm up, though they have lost spinner Jack Leach for the series against Australia and Super League’s Magic Weekend in Newcastle.
We have sifted the meetings and matches to bring you three big winning bets from the weekend’s action.

MANCHESTER CITY v MANCHESTER UNITED – CORNERS SQUARED (SETTLED AT 36)
We start at Wembley where Ilkay Gundogan followed up his strike in the 15th second with a winner in the second half to secure the second leg of Manchester City’s treble.
Sellers on the 1st Match Goal spread won 33x their stake, but there was a bigger win to be had if you got against corners in the capital with both teams contributing just six altogether. It took until late inside the first half for there even to be one and were it not for a late flurry, sellers on the Corners Squared spread would have been in for even more profit.
Before the match, the Corners Squared spread was 100-110, but with the market settling at just 36, sellers enjoyed a Cup final win of 64x their stake.
WIGAN WARRIORS v CATALANS DRAGONS – CATALANS DRAGONS MULTI-POINTS (SETTLED AT 528)
There were plenty of big winning spreads over Magic Weekend. Buyers on St Helens Hotshots won 101x their stake, Josh Griffin Super-Mega Minutes buyers won 329x their stake and sellers on Wakefield Trinity Multi-Points once again saw the market make up at zero as they collected a win of 37x their stake (as highlighted before a £1 sell on Trinity Multi-Points in every match this season would now have you £446 in profit)
One of the biggest wins of the weekend in Newcastle came on day one as Catalans put Wigan to the sword in the second match of the weekend. The Warriors went in as favourites for what was likely to be a low scoring affair, but they were blown away by their French opponents who led 24-8 at the break.
Former Trinity winger Tom Johnstone completed his hat-trick in the second half as the Dragons ran out 46-22 winners at St James’ Park. Steve McNamara’s outfit scored 24 first half points and 22 in the second leaving Catalans Multi-Points to settle at 528. Before kick-off, the spread was 90-105 as buyers won 423x their stake.
SRI LANKA v AFGHANISTAN – SRI/AFG SUPREMACY (SETTLED AT 132)
Having lost the opening match in this three game ODI series, Sri Lanka were out for revenge against Afghanistan in Hambantota and they levelled the series in emphatic style.
Afghanistan sit one place ahead of Sri Lanka in eighth spot in the ODI world rankings but they were no match for the Lions who set a target of 323-6 with Kusal Mendis top scoring for the hosts.
Afghan opener Rahmanullah Gurbaz fell for just two runs and whilst there was some resistance from captain Hashmatullah Shahidi and Ibrahim Zadran who both hit half centuries, the bottom seven in the Afghan batting line-up contributed just 35 runs.
In the end Sri Lanka romped to a crushing 132 run victory. The Supremacy spread before the match was set at 18-28 with buyers winning 104x their stake.
Please note that these are examples of winning bets from the past week, and it is important to remember that spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit.
