Another weekend of dramatic sporting action saw plenty of thrills as Jannik Sinner claimed the US Open crown in the tennis, England overcame Ireland in the Nations League while Cristiano Ronaldo reached 901 career goals, the Chicago Bears and Buffalo Bills produced dramatic comebacks in the NFL and much more, and as always in our daily betting blog we run through the big spread betting winners from the weekend!

JANNIK SINNER v TAYLOR FRITZ: TOTAL POINTS (SETTLED AT 176)
We start with the tennis betting action at the US Open and world number one Jannik Sinner became the first Italian man to win the trophy at Flushing Meadows as he showed his class as the undisputed best player in the world at the moment to dominate the American hope Taylor Fritz in three relatively-straightforward straight sets.
In what was Fritz's first Grand Slam final, the American began nervously by getting broken early in the first set before hitting back quickly, but ultimately fell away as Sinner grabbed the first stanza 6-3. The second was largely uneventful and dominated behind serve by both men until a crucial break in the tenth game by the Italian to go 6-3 6-4 up. The third and final set was then a topsy-turvy affair as Fritz came back to within a service hold of forcing a fourth set, but Sinner broke consecutively to secure a 6-3 6-4 7-5 victory.
For tennis spread bettors, those who expected a relatively short match and on the lower end of the points spectrum, deciding to place a sell bet on our Total Points market proved to be a profitable choice. Sellers returned an Ace 61x return on their initial wager from a pre-match spread of 237 - 244.

PORTUGAL v SCOTLAND - C.RONALDO (SUB) PGMs (SETTLED AT 88)
We move on to the football action and while the Premier League is taking a break, there were still plenty of dramatic stories in the international matches. One of these came in Portugal's meeting with Scotland, where Cristiano Ronaldo followed up on marking yet another milestone in his legendary career.
After Napoli's former Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay gave the Scots a shock lead, Portugal hit back through birthday boy and McTominay's former midfield team-mate Bruno Fernandes, before Ronaldo hit an 88th-minute winner to score the 901st goal of his career, an incredible achievement after reaching the magical 900 mark in Portugal's match with Croatia last Thursday.
In terms of spread betting, punters who decided to place a buy bet on the Ronaldo (Sub) Player Goal Minutes market made good profit. With the starting spread at 36 - 39, a final make-up of 88 meant a return of 49x their opening stake!

CHICAGO BEARS v TENNESSEE TITANS: TENNESSEE MULTI-POINTS (SETTLED AT 0)
Next we move to the NFL action from the season-opening matches and an impressive comeback victory for the Chicago Bears against the Tennessee Titans. The Bears ultimately overturned a 17-0 deficit as they stunned the Titans 24-17 to give No 1 Draft pick Caleb Williams his first win in the NFL.
After struggling to contain the Titans' strong start in the first half, Bears corner Tyrique Stevenson ran back a 43-yard interception return touchdown to give Chicago their first lead with 7.35 remaining, which featured as part of 24 unanswered points from the Bears, who finished with just 148 yards on offense.
For NFL punters envisaging the massive disparaty in points between halves and betting on the Tennessee Multi-Points market at a pre-match spread of 99 - 119, a settlement of 0 meant a return of 99x on sell bets!
If you like to bet on NFL but want to know more about then we have all the information you need, including our bet calculator with which you can calculate potential spread betting winnings or losses.
