After another weekend of top class sports and a multitude of dramatic action, as always in our daily betting blog we run through the big spread betting winners from the weekend!

Some of the key action came from weekend T20 World Cup cricket where England fell to defeat against Australia, Carlos Alcaraz won his third Grand Slam with the French Open trophy in the tennis and Scottie Scheffler secured victory at The Memorial in the golf.

ALEXANDER ZVEREV v CARLOS ALCARAZ - TOTAL POINTS (SETTLED AT 293)

Next we move to the tennis action and it was pure joy for Carlos Alcaraz in the French Open final as he followed in the footsteps of his countryman and idol Rafael Nadal by winning a first Roland Garros title and third overall Grand Slam, and at still just 21, it remains to be seen just how high the heights of his career will be when all is said and done.

Fittingly for a Grand Slam final, the match was ultimately decided in a fifth set shoot-out after Alcaraz had clawed his way back from a two sets to one deficit, but in truth the final two sets seemed to be a formality as the young Spaniard found another level which was too hot to handle for Zverev, with the German succumbing 3-6 6-2 7-5 1-6 2-6 in 4 hours and 19 minutes.

Spread betting punters who fancied a long match and placed a buy bet on the Total Points market iat an opening spread at 244 - 251 saw a make-up of 293 and a return of 42x their stake.

THE MEMORIAL GOLF - SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER PERFORMANCE (SETTLED AT 200)

And finally, we finish with the weekend's golf as American Scottie Scheffler won The Memorial tournament, edging out countryman Collin Morikawa by one shot to win his fifth PGA Tournament from eight events this season.

Scheffler has already won the Arnold Palmer Invitational, The Players, The Masters and the RBC Heritage in a dominant start to the year, and now heads into the US Open as a solid favourite.

The 27-year-old saw his four-shot overnight lead cut to one at Muirfield Village as Morikawa and Adam Hadwin piled on the pressure, although Scheffler never relinquished top spot as he came through a tricky final day.

In terms of spread betting, punters who decided to place a buy bet on the Scheffler Performance market made good profit. With the starting spread at 92 - 97, a final make-up of 200 meant a return of 103x their opening stake!
