big-winning-bets-landing-page-header

Records tumbled at Bramall Lane yesterday whilst all the home nations recorded wins in the Rugby World Cup. In a bumper weekend of sport, England beat Ireland in the ODI at Trent Bridge, whilst in rugby league, Wigan Warriors claimed the League Leaders’ Shield with a narrow win over local rivals Leigh Leopards.

We have cast our expert eyes over the scores and results from the last few days to bring you three big winning bets.

SHEFFIELD UNITED v NEWCASTLE UNITED – GOALS x SHIRTS (SETTLED AT 1352)

Eddie Howe’s Newcastle side haven’t really caught fire yet this season, but fresh off the back of a gruelling midweek match in Milan during the week, they burned their way through a hapless Sheffield United yesterday.

Eight different scorers piled on the misery for the Geordies as they recorded their biggest ever away win and inflicted Sheffield United’s biggest ever home defeat at Bramall Lane. With so many goals flying in, there were a couple of big winners, but those who bought Goals x Shirts were rewarded with a nice win. Before the match, this spread was 171-188 (the buy line even dipped as low as 124 in-play) but with eight goals and Shirts totalling 169, the spread settled at 1352 as buyers won 1164x their stake.

WALES v AUSTRALIA – WAL/AUS SUPREMACY (SETTLED AT 34)

Wales’s clash with Australia yesterday was supposed to be a tight affair with the Supremacy spread at 0-2 narrowly in Welsh favour. However, Warren Gatland’s side put the two-time World Cup winners to the sword as they ran out comfortable 40-6 winners.

Three tries (two of which were converted) alongside six penalties and a drop goal from man of the match Gareth Anscombe helped Wales transform a 16-6 half time lead into a landslide victory. There would have been celebrations from Llandudno to Llanelli, but those who bought the Supremacy spread would have been cheering along as well as they collected a win of 32x their stake.

JOE JOYCE v ZHILEI ZHANG – ZHANG/JOYCE 10/3 (SETTLED AT 40)

Having been stopped in the sixth round when Zhilei Zhang handed him a first ever defeat on his professional record, Joe Joyce was out for revenge on Saturday night, but things unravelled quickly for the British boxer.

A cagey first round gave way to a second in which Zhang increased the tempo and caught the Juggernaut with a couple of rocking shots. If those were the warnings, then Joyce did not heed them and a couple of minutes later he was flat out on the canvas as Zhang recorded a stunning third round knockout. The 10/3 market in boxing awards ten points to the fight winner and three points for every round left in the fight if there is a stoppage (including the round the fight is stopped in).

With Zhang narrowly favoured 1-4 on the initial spread and his stunning performance earning him 40 points on the spread, buyers landed a win of 36x their stake.

Please note that these are examples of winning bets from the past week, and it is important to remember that spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit.
