This weekend saw a feast of sport with international football taking centre stage as we saw the penultimate games of the UEFA Nations League 2022 group stage. England kicked off the weekend on Friday night as their loss to Italy saws them relegated from group 3 whilst Saturday saw Ukraine comfortably beat Armenia meaning the winner of group 1 of League B will be determined tomorrow as Ukraine host Scotland.

The final action of the weekend came on Sunday as Pakistan bowled England out to win the fourth match of the IT20 series to level the scores at two goals apiece.

As usual, we look at three big winning spread bets bringing savvy punters joy.

Please remember that unlike fixed odds betting, when spread betting losses can exceed deposits.

ITALY V ENGLAND – MULTI-BOOKINGS (SETTLED AT 0)

England’s recent misery was compounded by a 1-0 loss in Milan which saw the visitors crash out of group 3 meaning they will be playing UEFA Nations League B football next year.

The game started tentatively with the best chance falling to West Ham striker Gianluca Scamacca who forced a smart save from Nick Pope to send the game into half time goalless.

In the second half a moment of inspiration from Giacomo Raspadori gave Italy the lead which England had no reply to meaning the home side are now unbeaten in the last six head to heads between the two sides.

But where was the value for the punters?

Although there were three bookings in the second half the fact that there were none in the first half meant the Multi-Bookings market made up at 0 (0 x 30 = 0). With a pre match spread of 345-425 being offered punters who decided to sell won 345x their initial stake!

ARMENIA V UKRAINE – TOTAL GOAL MINUTES X CORNERS (SETTLED AT 2504)

Ukraine bounced back from Wednesday’s 3-0 defeat to Scotland as they thrashed Armenia 5-0 to keep their hopes of winning group 1 of League B to the final game against Scotland.

Ukraine’s manager Oleksandr Petrakov reacted to Wednesday’s defeat by changing his entire starting lineup for the game and it seemed to do the trick when Oleksandr Tymchyk opened the scoring with his first international goal in the 22nd minute.

The visitors then piled on the pressure in the second half scoring another four times with Artem Dovbyk getting on the scoresheet twice to complete a dominating performance.

But where was the value for the punters?

With Ukraine’s goals coming relatively late in the game Total Goal Minutes made up at a massive 313. When multiplied by eight match corners this made the Total Goal Minutes x Corners market up at 2504 (313 x 8 = 2504). With a pre match spread of 1050-1150 offered lucky punters who decided to buy won 1354 their stake!

PAKISTAN V ENGLAND – LAUNCH! (SETTLED AT 2112)

The final action of the weekend came from Karachi as Pakistan edged the tie by just three runs to level the series at two wins apiece after four games.

England won the toss and elected to bowl first and it looked like it would be a repeat of the other night with Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan putting on a strong opening partnership before Azam lost his wicket in the 11th over leaving the home side in a strong position of 97/1. However Pakistan failed to build on their strong start as England’s bowling reduced them to 166-4 off their 20 overs.

England made a slow start and were reduced to 14-3 off just two overs before stand out performances from Ben Duckett and Liam Dawson left the visitors needing just five runs from 10 deliveries. However, from this point Pakistan got three wickets for just one run bowling out England just three runs short of their total with four deliveries remaining.

But where was the value for the punters?

With the highest score from any batsman once again coming from Rizwan with 88 runs and the most expensive over coming off Muhammad Hasnain for 24 runs the Launch market made up at 2112 (88 x 24 = 2112). With a pre match spread of 1450-1550 being offered punters who decided to buy won 562x their stake!

Please note that these are examples of winning bets from the past week, and it is important to remember that spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit.
