Daily Spread Betting Round-up

Weekend's Big Winning Bets

weekends-big-winning-bets-24102022-landing-page-header

There has been a plethora of international sport to enjoy over the weekend with clashes in rugby union, rugby league and cricket to keep sports fans occupied at all times of the day.

We even had the rarity of a 19:45 kick-off on a Saturday to enjoy in the Premier League as Leeds United secured a much-needed three points on the road at Anfield for the first time since Mark Viduka scored four in a 4-3 win for the Whites.

With plenty of thrills and spills, we look at three big winning spread bet markets from the weekend’s action.

Please remember that unlike fixed odds betting, when spread betting losses can exceed deposits.

CHARLTON ATHLETIC v IPSWICH TOWN – TOTAL GOAL MINUTES (SETTLED AT 596)

This week’s big football winning spread bet comes from League 1 where Ipswich Town travelled south of the river to face Charlton Athletic at The Valley. A buy on Total Goal Minutes is what we are focussing on here at 122-132 and George Edmundson got things moving for buyers when he put Ipswich in front on the stroke of half time.

Tyreece John-Jules put the visitors further ahead when he scored seven minutes into the second half. Charlton never gave up though and goals from Jesrun Rak-Sakyi and Albie Morgan already had buyers in clover as the game moved to injury time.

As the clock ticked past 90 minutes there was still time for four more goals as Freddie Ladapo and Sam Morsy put the Tractor Boys 4-2 up before Terell Thomas and George Dobson struck back (all goals scored in injury time count as 45 or 90 depending on the half) as Total Goals settled at 596.

Buyers, therefore, landed a juicy win of 464x their stake.

TONGA v COOK ISLANDS – TONGA MULTI-POINTS (SETTLED AT 2080)

The Rugby League World Cup travelled to Middlesbrough this weekend as Tonga faced a Cook Islands side who still had a slim chance of qualification to the semi-finals. Those who were hoping for a close Polynesian battle were left disappointed after Tonga made a mockery of their 28-point handicap deficit to blow the Kukis away.

The game was over after 25 minutes as a rampant Tonga side tore through the hapless Cook Islanders at will, with the score at half-time 52-0 to Kristian Woolf’s side. Things did get marginally better for the Cooks, and the retiring Tinirau Arona was generously given a try by Bard Takairangi who had made an interception, but they still lost 92-10.

Tonga hadn’t really clicked until this matcha and their clash with Samoa next weekend promises to be something special. Those who bought Tonga Multi-Points at 307-408 thought this weekend was special enough as they came away with a win of 1672x their stake.

WETHERBY, CHARLIE HALL CHASE – AHOY SENOR 50-25-10 (SETTLED AT 0)

The Charlie Hall Chase at Wetherby was the pick of the weekend’s jumping action with five good horses going to post in an intriguing Grade 2 contest in West Yorkshire. The 11/10 favourite was Ahoy Senor, who had a Race Index spread of 29-32 as the tape came down.

Trained by Lucinda Russell, Ahoy Senor started brightly enough but laboured in the second half of the race and was treading water from four out as Bravemansgame, Eldorado Allen, Sam Brown and Paint The Dream pulled away.

The top four finished in that order, with Bravemansgame taking the spoils, and whilst Ahoy Senor made it to the finishing post he did so 29 lengths behind the winner in 5th place as Race Index sellers won 29x their stake.

Please note that these are examples of winning bets from the past week, and it is important to remember that spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit.
